I can't believe it's almost the 4th of July.  Is it me or is this strange to have it in the middle of the week?  Very weird!!!

Well I was headed to the gym and my car lost it's mind.  The gauges started to go up and down, didn't know how fast I was going and the little air bag symbol would come  on and the radio go off? I swear it was like one of those UFO things you see in the movies....  Anyway I headed back home and need to take it on the shop...  So, Rocky and I went for a walk before work.  I did some lifting at home with what I had and band work.  I am going to do some sit ups and push ups.  Rocky and I will go for another walk before it gets dark... He was a rescue dog and was tortured and I am not kidding, he is missing toes and such.  Needless to say when people shoot off fireworks he runs in my arms like a little baby.  It breaks my heart to see him so afraid.  So if they are shooting off fireworks, no walk!!
So my friends, Did You Move To Lose and or Maintain Today?  Come on in and let'**** the workout one more time before the eats are  on the table.  You can tell I am from the south

Hi Kathy, It's unusual that my dh & I don't have any particular plans this year for the 4th!  We will go out to our local park and listen to some of the entertainment (local singing groups, etc.) and then stay for the fireworks that follow.   At least we won't have any big "food fest" to deal with--we'll just grill chicken here and have some of the scrumptious corn on the cob that we've been eating every day--I bought some really fresh ears from a local family--it's so sweet & tender! This morning I didn't go to the gym; it was such a nice morning outside that I went for a good power walk for a little over an hr.  I'm sure I didn't burn as many calories as an equal time at the gym, but I find I do better--and don't hate it so much--if I get a variety of "action"!  I never will love and/or crave exercise like many of you here on the boards do, but I KNOW how important it is for me, so I just have to find ways to realistically make it a part of my life. Have a great Fire Cracker Day!!

Hi Jo, I guess we need to find something you LOVE and it won't be so painful...  Have you tried dancing, swimming, biking?  Walking is very good and it sounds like  you enjoy it so that is what is so important. Have a great holiday and see ya Thursday!!! Take care, Kathy

Just back on the "bandwagon"  (LOL) in the last 2 weeks  (exercising and doing MODIFIED time-out) Kids to pool at the Y - and I don't just sit and watch them - I move the whole time 1 1/2 to 2 hours - swimming up and down, walking back and forth across the shallow end - kicking and kicking and kicking the water - get a good workout in the water....
