hi everyone, I dont come as much as I used to but now that I am getting some order back in my life I hope to come here a lot. I am 3 years out I had a few months where I did not eat right and actually dumped on purpose. I was in a lot of pain for a genitic condition I have and pain pills were not helping so because dumping for me is to get really tired and fall asleep. that is what I did to help with the pain until I could see the pain doctor and get it under control for 3 months I did this. it was not always bad food like candy and stuff like that. anyways, I gained about 7 pounds and it was actually hard for me to do that, it seemed that no matter what I ate, I was always hovering around 155.  well I had a doctors appointment coming up with my surgeon and I was somewhat embarrassed about how much I had gained. so I went on this Liver Shrinking Diet he makes everyone go on the month before surgery and in just 5 days I lost 6 pounds! I had posted about this diet before back in November, I will go back and see if I can find it because it was a long post. but basically you gave up salt and anything that came in a can, a bag, a box etc. also no cheese.  I only ate fresh fish and meat and I ate fresh veggies and even fruit.. when I got to the doctors office his scale read 160 pounds and last time I was there it said 161 pounds back in early November.  He also said I Look more healthy at this weight and my hubby agreed so although I am not going to eat the bad stuff I hope to keep this weight and maintain it. My liver must be the size of a pea, then because this is the way I almost ALWAYS eat.  Since my DS I have devoted myself to by and large eliminating pre-packaged processed foods because I think that's what makes most of us fat.  My husband and I so rarely go out to eat now even because fresh is always best. I do eat a fair amount of cheese, however, since having the DS requires me not to fiercely restrict my fat intake but that's why  I have cream in my coffee when I don't have protein powder in it and always butter instead of margarine. Good luck and God bless in achieving ALL your goals.
