Day 9 of my TO, also known as Simple Sugar Buster!

Good morning to all! Well I am on day 9 (I think, might have lost track). I've decided to only weigh myself on Mondays so I can't report as to any weight loss. I can report that I am crossing my legs with ease so THAT is always an indication of a good loss...I love the feeling of smaller thighs! (my last bastion of fat store...it's ALL in my lower body...) I am actually doing more of a Plateau Buster plan actually. It's kind of a cross between the TO and the PB...I guess I made it up myself. I am eating protein *solid food when I am truely hungry. Otherwise I'm sticking to TO. I plan to do this for one more week then move into the Plateau Buster. I have about 15 or so more pounds to loose to get back to my goal weight. I have to say the TO really did help me get a grip on my emotional eating and turning to simple sugars. It was more painful for me emotionally than physically. But, after a few blue days I realized that with hard work, dicipline and positive thinking it really is possible to get back to goal without to much trouble. I think, for me, my thinking is the biggest problem.  If I would just get out of my way!!!! I know what is proper nutrition and exercise. It is very easy to loose sight of it and let the old patterns emerge. I am grateful, SO grateful for this board, the ideas we share, and the ups and downs. Makes it so much easier to cope! So here is to day 9 for me! I hope all of you are doing well and are keeping those positive thoughts brewing... Time for this chick to get moving!

Ok! Thanks Laurie for telling me your name. In real life I always love to know everyone's names so it spills over into my online stuff... ANYWAY! LOL! Here's the deal with me...I am still doing lots of protien shakes and just bought more yesterday from Vitalady. When I am not drinking a protein shake I am drinking water and eating small amounts of protein to keep the cravings away. As long as i do not eat too many carbs I do not crave them and feel very in control.  My whole goal in life is to keep my sugars and carbs almost to nothing. Everything it seems contains some sort of carb but I am peeing on one of those ketosis sticks every few days and somtimes I am in ketosis and sometimes I am not. IF I AM I am losing weight usually. Have you heard of Karen B's Timer Plan? It is a plan that I got off of the yahoo group for grads. It is pretty much what I am doing! Hugs! Molly

Hi Molly! Your plan sounds a lot like what I'm working towards. I haven't heard of the Timer Plan... I'm getting low on my Real Meals and heard that they are in the process of repackaging them so are on backorder. I'm wondering what I'll do about that. I have a hard time digesting many, many of the protein supplement drinks. I don't mind the taste so much as I get a touchy pouch. The Real Meals seem to be the only thing I can digest.  I was going to check into Vitalady about the Vit. D powder so I will do that now and look at the protein shakes too!  Hugs back! Laurie

Laurie,

I just wanted to mention a protein drink that I really like.  It's a ready to drink formula that costs about $3.50 a bottle at GNC.  There are 2 servings in each bottle.  It's called ISOPURE and it comes in fruity flavors.  It's a nice break from the milky protein shakes, especially in the summer.  It tastes very clean and to me there is no trace of grit or powder or clumps.  It's a clear liquid and I have never had any trouble with it.  My body accepts it as easily as water.  It's sugar free, fat free, carb free, and low calorie.  For a 10 oz serving (half the bottle) you get 20 grams of protein and only 80 calories.  You can get it cheaper if you have a GNC gold card and buy it the 1st week of the month or if you order it online at GNC.  The cases have 12 bottles and are sold online even cheaper than the singles.  However, it's nice to be able to just go into the store and buy one or two to sample.  I like the Icy Orange best, followed by the red one, which is a fruit punch I think.  I don't care for the blue and the grape is tolerable.  They have a green one called apple melon I think, but I haven't tried it yet.  I think the Icy Orange is fabulous and I can even imagine eating it over shaved ice or crushed ice.  I just keep them in the refridgerator and drink my half a bottle when I first wake up.  It's cold and refreshing like a gatorade but without the sugar.  Thought I would share my favorite since you are having trouble getting yours for now.    Sincerely, Angela

Thanks Angie! I'll give them a try. I tried the blue one and it was nasty!!! So I didn't try any other flavors. I'll give it a go! laurie

Molly-you're too young to know, but we used to use those sticks back in "the old days" to check our Diabetics-back in the days before hand held sugar machines. I don't think I even knew they still MADE ketone sticks-where did you buy them> I'm on Day 9 of PB, and having ALOT of bad breath issues, so figured I must be having some ketones "escaping"--maybe I should go pee on a stick..lol...BTW-I truly enjoy your posts-honestly-you are honestly a wealth of useful information-I learn alot from you

You are so neat, Laurie. I love reading anything you post.... Congrats on the renewed grip and forward-thinking plan! I'm right behind you, though I've been weighing my self daily (2.5 pounds this week - a bit slower than last week, but to be expected). I've also integrated healthy foods i.e. salads, lean proteins in small amounts, etc... but only when truly hungry. To me, that's been the biggest success of all: knowing when I'm actually, genuinely hungry. Reaching for the right things comes more naturally when true hunger is experienced, don't you think? Have a GREAT weekend...I'll be looking for your next post! A
