Time out--protein

Okay, I still don't like protein drinks...never have, I guess I never will. Ordered the syntrax stuff and have really tried, but I just can't! So I went back to my GNC 100% Whey Protein (chocolate).  I just use a scoop of it with about 1/2 cup of water and shake it hard.   I also just can't make myself drink the crystal light, so I just drink water and that's okay by me. I'm doing fine...making progress, but my busy life gets in the way.  I won't give up and I'm thankful for the method of TO! Sheryl

Try a little Hershey's SF syrup, I think it really helps, makes it go down a little easier.  Michele

Sheryl, I don't know if you have tried these and of course they are expensive, but I love the ready to drink ISOPURE from GNC.  It's about $3.50 a bottle unless you buy it with your gold card the first week of the month.  Since we only absorb so much protein in one sitting I break the bottle into 2 servings.  The entire bottle has 160 calories and 40 grams of protein.  I like it very cold and my favorite flavors are Icy Orange and the red one, which is some type of punch.  There are a few I think are nasty, but they all go down better than powder.  If you order it online at GNC you can get it even cheaper because they honor the gold card price all month and have a case discount (12 bottles in a case).  Plus, they have free shipping on orders over $50.  The local GNC will have the single bottles so you can try one out.  I really like them and I really struggle with the powders.  I usually keep them in the fridge and just down half a bottle every morning before I do anything else.  It's hydrating and tastes like a gatorade or something.  Plus, I get that 20 grams of protein out of the way first thing with only 80 calories.  They are fat free, sugar free, carb free, etc.  Good luck. I have learned to drink the chocolate powders in warm water--kind of like hot chocolate.  I understand we should not bring the protein to a boil.
