Carbs--who knew????

Just got back from my 18 month check up.  In talking to the NUT, I was shocked to learn I was eating too many carbs (hence VERY slow weight loss over last 2-3 months).  Somewhere I got it in my mind that 100 was the magic number for carbs so I have been dilligently tracking away, and hitting my daily carb amount of 100 grams. 60 or less is the right answer!!!!  Well, poop on a duck!!!!   For those of you laboring under this same illusion, thought you might want to know. Got to go over to Sparkpeople and make that change.  (We doesn't want to, does we, Precious?  No, we doesn't.!)

My surgical coordinator said 30 but I know I eat so much more than that. Sandy

The fabulous news is that if you've been steadily used to 100- dropping to 60 should allow you to see quick and fabulous results initially. That's always a motivator for me when I get in a slump. Nothing can motivate you to achieving weight loss like weight loss can! lol At least you got a firm answer to your slowed progress. Sometimes it's a puzzle.  Glad you got it worked out and good luck.

Thank you for getting a NUMBER. I too just pulled 100 out of my..........never mind! I had been told one time no more than 13 grams per meal. I cant even eat Kashi Go Lean with that number! I TOO, eat too many carbs, but I dont know how to complete eliminate them. At least with having 60 as a number, I can still have my Kashi or some oatmeal once in a while!

Thank you….I can never get a straight answer out of Peggy that's why I asked. :-) I've always tried to keep my carbs around 45-65grams a day….it can be tough though….:-)
