Probably going to get flamed but I have to get this off my chest

I am sure some people need revisions, but just like there are people who want wls for the wrong reasons, there may be some who want revisions for the wrong reason as well. I really agree with what a previous poster said about "eating normal."  It is easy to forget that obesity is a disease that must be managed regardless of our size.  I have lost 225 pounds but still have the disease.  My body processes foods in a way that contributes to increased fat in a way that someone who has never been obese does not.  The genetic factors that contribute to obesity have not gone away.  I must remain diligent in the same way someone with diabeties must.  Fat cells do not go away--once you have them they are sitting there wanting to be full and multiply.  So even with a thinner body, I still face obesity issues.   Revisions may be neccessary and appropriate for some, and I'm not a doctor so I would never presume to judge.  Eating "normally" in America is generally unhealthy so it isn't anything to really aspire to!   Sally

Absolutely right on!! I believe that those seeking a "quick" revision are still looking for the quick fix. I still struggle daily with my food addiction and making poor choices. It is a life long battle. Being pregnant has been very, very challenging for me mentally and food wise. It is terrifying to gain wt. But, I know that my pouch still works, I know it is still small. I just made some really bad choices in the beginning of the pregnancy thinking that I wouldnt be able to gain much and could eat like any other pregnant woman. WRONG ANSWER! I have been following the pouch rules, and eating like someone who has had RNY for several months now, but it took me a quick 15 pound gain to get my head out of my A**. Thanks for your post! Take care and good luck.
