Afternoon all, I personally am not planning to go near this stuff. I have seen a lot of interest around here about it lately so I thought I would share this article. Everyone has to do what is best for them but please be careful if you plan to use this. There is a particluar sentence that states people with absorbtion issues should not take it. http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/nutrition_articles.asp?i d=890 Hope all are well. Have a great evening!

Donna, I couldn't agree with you more, besides, isn't this why we had this surgery, to avoid all that garbage we used to take back when? I get hungrier much more than I did a year ago (I'm 18 months out), but there is no way I would take diet pills again. I hope most of you agree on this one! Thanks

I like these magical weight loss solutions that tell you that in addition to taking their pill, you have to eat properly and get regular excercise. Duh??? If you did that, you wouldn't need to lose weight. -=db=-

I considered Alli for about 5 minutes. There were two reasons I discounted it: After looking at the info online, I saw the absorption issue. Strike one. After looking at the info online, I wondered what the hell I was thinking AT ALL. Strike two. Actually, that's when I decided to come back to the wls boards after a long absence. I needed something more real, more grounded, more suited for my special cir****tances and I was not disappointed.  I hope those graduates who are experiencing regain, as I am, will skip this "option" completely. It's just not worth it. And as the old adage goes, "If it really worked, we'd all be skinny."

Sorry, not going to use anything that has "anal seepage" as a side effect.  Eeew.

Anal seepage. How attractive! I think they said the same thing about Olestra, the fake fat. -=db=-

Hi, I had a girlfriend that was considering it. I told her to limit her carb intake and up her protein. She went to the store after our get together....saw the product, stood there and decided not to buy it. She was leaving the store and ran into a fireman friend of hers...who promptly told her that he had taken not one, but FOUR women to the hospital over the course of the past two weeks. All were taking the product. Just want to get the information out there. She called me the minute she talked to the guy and told me THANK YOU for your warning.....So, yeah, I'd stay away from it but that's me. We have so many other wonderful tools at our disposal.....(one sitting inside of us this very minute....called our pouch!)

Well, let me be the odd one out and tell you that i used this when i was fat, and recently bought some. I did as a fat person have the greasy stools and greasy gas, but as a thin person the fat no longer floats to the top. I guess i have changed my fat intake  But i will say i figured what the heck, i alreay have malabsorption issues and if i just take it when i eat something a little fattier than i should i will be fine. It hasn't helped me ose more weight at all. But i still like it! Melinda

It is just Xenical wit h a new name. Another thing to put money in the pockets of a drug company while taking advantage of the overweight and promising much and delivering little. "dieters using the Alli program only lost three more pounds over the course of an entire year than people who dieted and exercised without taking the pill. " is anal leakage a fair trade for 3 pounds in a year????????
