OK, I am 2.5 years out and am maintaining pretty well. I have been drinking crystal light  like crazy lately and if I drink more than one a day I am starved to the point of getting very shaky and light headed. Any reason why?? Sometimes it gives me a horrible headache to. Cannot figure it out so I thought maybe someone here might know. thanks so much in advance. Rhonda

I've heard about people getting headaches from the aspartame in some sugar free drinks. I know that 4c makes s/f drink mixes made with splenda instead of aspartame. On the days that you drink alot, are you consuming enough protein? Sounds like it could be low blood sugar to me.

Tracy, I do think it is low blood sugar. I find I do fine with the walmart brand drink mix, but the crystal light is a killer. Going to try just drinking my water again. Not worth the extra eating I wanted to do. Rhonda

I'm putting in another vote for the evil aspartame.  I think it is responsible for a more than just headaches. Not trying to be cryptic, but I've found it's a hot-button issue with some folks. Also, I believe that "sweet begets sweet". Meaning, even though it's not directly contributing to weight gain, it's setting you up to always "need" something sweet., possibly tempting us in bad choices. Diet sodas, in my opinion, do the same thing. Water is boring, but a pretty safe bet for always.
