Hi Everyone, There is a flaming face on the Subject line because we are burning up here in IL already and it's not even summer.  The yard feels like straw, this is nuts!!! Anyway I went to the gym today and it was an abs day. I did 3 sets of 15 with leg lifts on the bar 3 sets of 15 side crunches with weights I tried 3 sets of 15 for the incline with medicine ball, but did 15, 10 and 8 3 sets of pull downs Plank 3 x crunches on exercise ball and floor crunches I also did 1 mile on the treadmill but at an incline of 8.0. Since I can't run fast on the treadmill I find this helps get the heart pumping... Some of you have commented you can't relate to my post.  Please, please, please remember I was where you are. If you are pre-op, newbie or later out.  I didn't even get serious about exercising until I hit goal.  So my friends when you see mine or someone else post here, read it as encouragement.  Use it as a motivator, if we can do it so can you!!!!! That being said....Did You Move To Lose Today?  Come on and tell it like it is!!! Stay Strong, Sexy and Sassy!! Take care, Kathy

Kathy, I have tell the truth. I did not get in my regular exercise today, but I have gotten in walking on my tredmill each day previous this week. I can't go to fast  but have been trying some interval training I read about and vary my incline up to 6. or 7. and walk between 2.2 - 3 mph. for about 30 minutes. What I have been doing is after I warm up and have walked a few minutes at a steady speed I increase my speed up to as fast as I can go and not fall and stay there for 30 seconds and then go back down to my previous speed, I repeat this as often as I can tolerate throughout my workout. It has been giving me and increased calorie burn in a short period of time and a better workout.  I am not at goal yet, but am slowly continuing to lose. Sher

Hi Sher, I have read about this and it's very effective for burning fat as you said.  I too can't go fast, I have nerve damage on the left side, so I try turning up the incline as well. AWESOME JOB!!!  Keep it going, you are going to get to goal for sure!!!! Take care, Kathy

Hey....I did a little bit today.....rode the bike for a half hour on the beach...then just plain flagged out.  Came home and collapsed...exhasted and whining...... Doug and I spent the whole day at the VA....he had stomach tests and a ct scan...so I was beat when I got home.... And I just feel like whining..... But I did exercise some today.....and as Mizz Schalett always says.... "I won't think about that today, I'll think about that tomorrow"......

Hi Charlie, I was thinking of you today.  I really enjoyed our talk the other day.  There is something about being in the hospital that just sucks the life out of you!!!! I bet there is nothing like riding on the beach!!!  Great workout setting... I am going to call tomorrow and talk to you.  So you feel free to whine as much as you want ok? Love ya, Kathy

I did and hour of wight lifting.  I worked out my entire body.  I do "super sets" as my PT calls them I lift heavy weights slowly but then move quickly from one set to another so I keep my heart pumping so I can skip cardio those days.  I hate cardio.  I am a bit tender today, esp my abs and chest.  I just have to give mysel a little kudos...my arms look damn sexy!  I am really happy with them.  South of my belly button is a whole different story! LOL

It made me feel good to read you didn't get serious about working out until you hit goal.  I have been on and off with working out and I have felt badly for not doing it more often sooner.  I am just going to get over it and get going!

Thanks for the motivation!

Erin

Hi Erin, You are so right, with doing the super sets you get a great cardio workout.  My son does this and he has lost a ton of weight in 6 months and the muscle mass is great. I would like to try this but I am still doing the stress thing and the resting.  When they get the stretcher out then I will try it LOL For sure Erin, don't look back unless you are headed there..  You are doing something now and that is all that counts. Take care, Kathy

Hi Kathy! Today was just a cardio day so I walked 35 this morning (and can you believe it was 57 degrees so I had to go back in a get a jacket!!!)  and will walk 40-45 tonight after work - I brought clothes to change into so I can stop before I get home.   A funny phenomenon happens after I get home.  I don't know what it is.  I think my couch has special powers or something  :)

Wow, you need a jacket?  Well send some of that nice weather this way.   We really need some rain. Great job walking and getting in your cardio twice in one day. Now about that couch?  What does it call  you?  Skinny? Take care, Kathy

Yesterday yoga.... today yoga, that's all. I'm feeling really grumpy and hungry. I've been trying the time out thing but I think it's too restrictive for me. I feel just awful emotionally and have low energy. I'm going to have some dense protein for dinner so maybe that will make me feel better.  Janice
