Hi Everyone ... Surgery went well yesterday as far as I can tell...Glad to be on the percocet, new girls VERY tender...Doc cleared me to eat when I got released from the clinic but it was 4:30 before we got home so not much food on board and ate too many crackers without adding a little cheese or some other kind of protein in ( the crackers were so I would have food on board each time I took my pain meds, per docs instructions, its my only decent excuse )...Of course, scale addict that I am, I got on last night and again this morning to check my numbers, I knew it would be UP there because of all the fluids pumped in an retaining from yesterday, still it was a downer to see 9 additional lbs on the scale this morning  - I really am mental , know they will be gone in no time and that it is just surgery related...Just planning to stay on track, make the right food choices and let nature take its course - it will be all good in no time S - 4 saltines D - 1 cup caesar salad        4 bacon wrapped scallops        2 sf peanut butter cups S - triple chocolate power crunch bar with reddi whip on top S - 4 ritz crackers  S - 4 ritz crackers PLUS - 70 oz water and hot tea and 3 IV bags of fluids during the surgery TOTALS  =     Cals - 762     Fat - 46     Carbs - 48     Protein - 40 Not sooo bad of a day considering the late start...Off to doze ...Will check in later...Alesia

Hello Anita WooWhoo!!! Another great day no white carbs, fantastic... Yes, I got both a mastoplexy ( breast lift ) and augmentation...They were an unexpected windfall, my grandparents and aunt decided to go in together and pay for it  as a way of showing me how proud they are with my WLS success, otherwise I could not afforded to do it anytime soon - Bless them My arms bounced back pretty good and I had a panni done when my surgeon had to go in for a hernia repair, so overall the body looks really good for being 40 ( actually I don't remember it looking this good a 20, maybe at 16, well not the boobs, but I was thinner then  ) Thanks for checking in...Talk with ya again soon...Alesia

hi alesia, well wait for tommorows food day.... that kashi cereal has soooo many carbs... plus had a slice of bread..... that is so wonderful of your  grandparents to do that for you. i still feel fat. am i?  i look down and see fat. there might be swelling on my tummy at 6 months out from my adominalplasty. my arms need something i asked the trainer and he said that is skin but he is working woth weights for me so see if anything helps. have a good day... anita

Hi back Anita, I can definately relate to the mental image thing...I know even though the scale said like 127 lbs when I went in for my panni last year I still felt fat because I could still see all that extra skin and it me it made me look fat  to me- it was all mental, I know because I have been measuring my body fat all along and its been really good, like 19-21 % for over a year even that low before the panni, but like I said the visual thing just messed me up...I seriously doubt you are truely still fat, but you may still be struggling with the physical side of it...Plus I also know that it takes your body a while to settle after plastics, I've heard up to a year for everything to redistribute itself, so as far as the abdominoplasty goes you probably just need to give it more time... You know its really true what everyone says, the new pouchie is just a tool and it is not the easy way out, cause I know and you know it is not easy coping with all the other stuff you still have "weighing" you down once you've physically lost most of the weight... Keep a smile pasted on and repeat after me, I AM THE CAPTAIN, I AM THE CAPTAIN, I AM IN CONTROL OF MY STINKIN' THINKIN', I CONTROL MY DESTINY Alesia

you know what.. when i walk by a store window i can see i am not the old me. i have a flat belly but i guess it is a mental thing.. woo hoo i am mental.. just kidding. i know i'm not fat and the skin is gone. i dont know how to measure my body fat. i am sure my trainer did it but i dont know what it is. thats right i have a tool and i do have to keep using it and be in control of me..  anita

I had a really good day. I feel so empowered! I have been very careful with my portions and I realized I have been eating too much. I was probably getting in more like 1800+, which I can maintain on (I have been at the same weight for about 6 months), but not loose the rest.
I am working hard on getting in all my fluids, I realized I love crystal light ice tea.

Here it is:
Breakfast:
egg beaters, 0.4 oz
feta cheese, 2 oz
Broccoli, cooked, 0.5 cup, chopped

Snack:
Banana, fresh, 1 small
Peanut Butter, chunk style, 1 tbsp

Lunch:
Chicken Breast, no skin, 3 ounces
BBQ sauce, 2 tbsp
Nectarines, 1 fruit

Snack:
Fage Yogurt, 0.5 cup
light cherry pie filling, 1 serving

Dinner:
(Greek Tofu Pasta Salad)
Tofu, firm, 0.25 block
Whole Wheat Pasta, 3/4 cup
greek dressing, 1 TBS
Feta Cheese, 1 oz
Red Ripe Tomatoes, 0.5 cup,
red onion 2 TBS

Snack:
Cottage Cheese, 1% Milkfat, 1 cup

Total Calories: 1315, Total Protein: 113
Fluids: 64 oz crystal light & 24 oz water

I bought the 0% Fage yogurt because I have seen many people eat it on here, but I don't really like it that much. It is a little too sour for me. I like how thick it is, but even with the light cherry pie filling it's still sour. I will fini**** though because I bought the tub and it's expensive! I realized that I really like Tofu! I am going to make a Buffalo Tofu Salad for lunch today. I am working from home this week so I have the time.

Alesia, thanks for the encouragement! I hope you are feeling better soon! You will have the new girls out on the town in no time!

Hi Erin, Good to have you reporting in again today...I agree, you did have a REALLY good day and are definately on the right track to make those last pounds drop off - after all at this point it really is mostly about cals in, cals out and you know @ what point you maintain so now just keep up the pace of staying a little lower, be patient and it will come... Have you tried the crystal light blueberry white tea?  It is my absolute fav tea flavor, milder in taste then the peach or raspberry ones...Walmart also makes their own brand of apple flavor that is a another big favorite of mine cause I love apple juice and this taste pretty darn close without the sugar and carbs... I cant wait to get some new girls myself.. I dont have any.. trust me thats the truth. I was never had a lot to begin with and now they are just none existent... =-( oh well..

Ok.. so yesterday didnt do so well.. yes.. I am not feeling good now.. I have a sore throat going on... gonna be taking me, and the bob back to the doctor and talking about my two other ones that are now getting sick... save me someone...

yesterdays food...

B- protein drink

S- slept through this

L- 3 oz of chicken and 1 oz of cheese (got a tummy ache for hours after this).

S- took a bite of sf cherry cheese cake.. yuck.. no more of that..

D- 2 oz of roast beef, summer squash, and one small red potato.

S- ice cream.. ahhh made my throat feel better... added protein cause I knew I needed it.

calories 960... fat...35 carbs.... 38 protein ....116

drank a whole bunch of fluids although not as much as I probably should have.. yikes.. need to push those today.

Hey Carla, I was afraid you were going to get sick too when you said your son had been down for a couple of days already and you were playing nursemaid, it is very difficult to eat when you feel like crud that's why many "normal" people lose weight when they get the flu or something...Just got to remember to eat no matter what, try sticking to soft proteins that go down easier like eggs and cheese or even add unflavored protein powder to soups or stews to help beef up the total protein intake, and yes you are right need to get in EXTRA fluids when you feel sick, I think somehow it help your body wash out the germs... Take care of yourself, don't let the ickies get you down and keep on keepin' on...Alesia
