Has this happened to anyone else
Hi. I had RNY April 25,05. I thankfully have not had any problems until lately. For the last two weeks I have noticed everyday that it gets harder to eat certain foods. Sometimes I felt like my meals was going to come back up, but didn't until yesterday & today my supper has came right back up after a couple of minutes after I'm done. Seems like when ever I have any type of meat or chicken that is when I get sick. I eat yogurt & protein drinks for breakfast & lunch.
I don't understand after all this time why I'm having a problem. Has anyone 2 yrs or more out had this happen?
Betty
Yep....happens to me too. I'm almost 5 years out...and chicken is still the worst for me. I believe its a combination of things...like....
1. Not chewing enough.....
2. Too much fat
3. Eating too fast.....
But if it keeps up....and soft stuff won't go down....might want to call the Doc....I think its possible for the stoma to develop scar tissue over time and become too small....but I could be wrong....I have been wrong before...although I would never admit it.......
Hijack!
Hi Charlie! Haven't seen you post lately & it is great to see that you're still coming to the board. Hope life is treating you well and that you're still loving the beach. Take care & drop me a line sometime to catch me up on what's new with you.
Hugs!

Hey Vickie.....good to see your face. I'm doing fine....life is still a blast on the beach. Still loving it...and now that I'm playing golf everyday.....I'm getting more exercise. I'm on a healthy eating binge right now......not working and just loafing.
All us Flarda gals have just got to get together this summer....I say....lets take a weekend...meet in high springs and tube down the Itchatucknee....how fun would that be....
Charlie,
I've never gone tubing but it sounds like great fun to me! I'll be having revision surgery on "the girls" July 23 so probably won't be physically up to it for a while after that but maybe earlier in July or after Labor Day weekend..... Let me know when and I'll be there if at all possible.
It sound like Lynda has turned you into a golf nut, too! Hey, whatever gets you moving is what counts! Me, I'm doing physical therapy 4 days a week but not much else. I hope to be finishing the PT in a few weeks. Once I'm done, the therapist will let me know what I can & can't do at the gym and I hope to get back to the gym soon. If not before my surgery, as soon as Dr. S. will allow it afterwards.
Take care & keep in touch!

Do you have nausea? Abdominal pain? Is your abdomen distented? How are your BMs? Are you having any "gag" refluxes?
Regardless of how you might answer these questions, you need to contact your surgeon at the very latest in the AM. In the meantime, if you develop pain or fever, go to the ER immediately!
Take care of YOU!
I have two sides to my brain - a right side and a left side. The trouble is sometimes there is nothing left in the right side and nothing right in the left side.
