TIME OUT - - I'M STARTING TUESDAY!!!!!

Good Afternoon: I've been reading the "time out" correspondence for the past two weeks and have come to the conclusion that this is certainly what i really need to undertake.   I've gained 35 lbs.  My RNY was 9/03 and I lost 160 lbs. (from 425 to 265) and I'm now puching the "300" and getting really scared.  I've had stress in my life that needs to be addressed within myself and "food" is not the answer.     I'm starting tomorrow for 7 days, then I'll proceed thereafter to 14 days.  I need to give myself a time frame to aim for which is why I say the 7 days followed by the 14 days.   I can report in every day this week (except Thursday as that is the day of my husband's surgery).  I can't report on the weekends either because I don't have email at my home.   Talk to you all tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kathy 6/11/07

Good for you Kathy!! I'm in a similar boat as you.......my surgery was 10/2003.  I went from 313 down to an all time low of 137...which was too thin (I am almost 5'9").  I am currently at about 182 (haven't weighed in a couple days, so not certain).  My goal is to get and keep myself between 155 and 160...so I want to lose about 25 lbs. I attempted to start timeout last week, and was so hungry I couldn't stand it, which it doesn't seem others are struggling with.  I did focus on protein and lost weight though.  (I was 186). Anyway, I'll be cheering you on, and doing my best to join in!!  We've come too far to fail now!! Kathy

Way to go for making a decision for yourself to get back on track. I think it is a great idea that you set a goal that you find realistic and as for hunger, I think it makes perfect sense to add another protien shake if you are sticking with liquids or some protein if you are doing modified. Hunger is your body telling you it needs food, we need to be intune with that. Keep in touch, we'll be here!!

Kathy, What are you going to eat during this time out?  I've been reading the other posts, but I'm still not clear on what it is you'd eat.  Just protein shakes?  Marie

Good Morning Marie: I'll be taking 3 protein shakes per day.  In addition, I'll be drinking water and/or Chrystal Lite drinks.  I'll be taking my bariatric vitamins each day as well.  This is the same as after we had the surgery in that we only had liquids for two weeks. I have to do this.  I've come this far and I need to continue.  I hold my weight very well.  When you look at me I look like I weigh 200 lbs and not 296!!!  The doctors tell me that I don't adhere to the weight charts because my bones are large and I'm tall (5'9").  I'm in a 22-24.  When I was 265 I was in an 18-20.  I'm not trying to be a beauty queen.  All I want to do is get down to 220-240 and stay there.  That would bring me to a 16-18 and I would be elated.   I've taken my 1st protein drink for breakfast and have had one water bottle full of Chrystal Lite already over the past 2 hours.  I feel great.  The only good part of doing this is that I'm never hungry.  This may prove to be good for this 14 day liquid adventure that I've undertaken. Wish me luck!!!!!! Kathy P. 6/12/07
