Well today is my 7 day on Time out (one week under the belt). On Sunday ,  I had a barbecue and had a burger (no bun) or anything else on it.   On the side a cucumber salad, thats it.   For the Morning and Lunch of that day I had my protein shake.   So far so good.  If anything this Time Out has made me stop and notice what I will put in my mouth and get me on TRACK !,   No more RUN AWAY TRAIN .    No more JUNK Food Start Weight  5/4/07     236.5 Monday 5/11/07            222. Laura, You are doing great?  Are you finding it easier to avoid the junk?  I sure am. Keep up the good work. Patty

How long have you been on the Time Out? Did your surgeon just suggest 2 weeks at a time?... I know he suggested that you add in a salad for dinner after the 2 weeks... .this is what you do until you reach your goal?

I am starting the sixth week of Time Out.  I am to call my surgeon (or see him) every two weeks to report in.  At this time, I will continue with the two protein drinks and the salad til I reach my goal.  However, I am assuming that he could change it at any time when I check in with him. I have an appointment to see him July 7 - I had a small skin cancer on my arm and he is going to remove it - he's a general surgeon as well as a bariatric surgeon.  It will be interesting to see where I am at that time. WOW!!!! 6 weeks! That is impressive!  Is it hard now at 6 weeks to not eat food yet? How tempting is it? How much weight have you loss in these 6 weeks?

I do eat a salad every day - no solid protein but I have lettuce, tomato, cauliflower, radishes and cucumber with a fat free, low cal dressing once a day. It was actually easier not eating at all.  In the five full weeks I've been on this, I have sneaked a bite or two of meat along - always fresh meat with no preservatives that I have grilled myself. I've lost a total of 24 pounds.  I lost 16 the first two weeks and then went two weeks and only lost 2 pounds - but I went down at least one size in that time.  Now I'm losing again, although not as rapidly as I did the first two weeks, which isn't surprising to me. Yes Pro Whey is fine, I use it for one of my shakes.  BUT - you should get NECTAR, it only has 90 calories.   Pro Whey tends to have more calories.   You can get NECTAR at The Vitamin Shoppe or on-line.   Laura
