7 years postop today!!!
Well I was supposed to travel to Florida today, but yesterday morning I was out to lunch with some girlfriends of mine and we got into a car accident ( an elderly woman blew a stop sign) and broadsided the drivers side. I was in the passenger seat and received 2 broken ribs on my right side..talk about PAIN..holy moly!
Anyways, now I can post today since I am SEVEN years out. Am I smarter? nope..wiser? a bit..I really am the same person I was back in 2000..just have a smaller body. :)
I won't be out celebrating today, but I will be sitting around with some pain meds and my remote lol

"Happy" anniversary I Chick...hopefully you are at least comfortable, if not happy!!
I want to thank you for sharing your health issues in the past year...even though you've gotten some flack from others. When I researched WLS I knew that it was too new for us to truly know all the long term risks involved...but I took the chance KNOWING what the long term effects of being SMO were. Anyway, I've had a few "weird" health issues that I have wondered may be related to WLS. Your post, and subsequent articles I've read are provoing me to ask my doctor to dig a little deeper and do more blood tests than what he routinely would (which I am admittedly overdue for anyway). While others don't thnk my numbing fingers and poor memory are anything to worry about, they do worry ME, and I know are not "normal" or acceptable for a woman in her 30's.
Anyway, thank you for sharing. And while I'm sorry that you are having difficulties, I thankyou for sharing the information as it may help others of us to try to get better about our nutrition, and perhaps help our doctor identify issues that may be arising.

Kathy....this is just something to think about......
I was losing my short term memory too....my Doc made me stop using all aspartame and all products containing it. I cut it out completely for about 2 years and I did notice my memory began to improve. I still avoid it whenever possible.
Not to say thats what is going on, and yes you should get tests done, but if you use it, you might want to give it up.
Congratulations on your seventh surgiversary!
Sorry about the accident, thankgoodness you weren't injured even more seriously. I hope you heal quickly.
