I was just wondering  the further out you get what is your wls post op follow up plan? I am 4+ year and haven't seen my wls in over 2.5 years, long story......I take my vitamins everyday and for the most part feel ok. Just wondering should I be doing yearly blood test?  Thanks, Donna open rny mar 18 2003

I would certainly suggest getting anual labs done!!! Your pcp can order them though, you don't need to go to your wls. I haven't seen mine either and I won't see mine ever again, so I have to go to pcp for whatever I need. It can be done!!  Best of wishes to you.

I do blood tests twice a year.  Good thing too!  I seem to be having a B something deficiency....my white cells keep dropping.  I am being monitored now by hemotologist for the next year.  I am very glad that the surgeon follows our care and that I continued to see him.  I think your primary could run the same blood tests for you and look at the numbers as well.  I hope she can identify the deficinecy for me soon.  I have started to take B complex in addition to my vitamins (optisource), B12, and elemental calcuim.  I am so glad not to have to take iron!  My counts there are very good.  Now if I could only get those blast white cell counts up!   Debbie
