Excellent Advice worth the read

I remember being denied surgery the first time.  My second attempt at insurance approval I felt so desperate.  I knew that this was a chance to save my life.  I would have agreed to ANYTHING to have this opportunity.

I remember being told, you may never be able to eat a bagel or a piece of pizza, you may never be able to tolerate sugar, you may never be able to have another glass of Coca-Cola [my old favorite food] in your life, ARE YOU WILLING TO GIVE THOSE THINGS UP?  And I said, yes, and I meant it, I would chose life over any of those things any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

And I am fortunate that I tolerate everything ['cept I've never gone back to soda], but when I feel myself wanting to regularly grab for those poor choices, I remind myself I can do anything I need to because I've been lucky to have another chance at life.

Permanent weight loss requires permanent change.

You got it, sister. Never read it before, love it and am glad you said it! I feel the same way - my surgery gave me the chance to live a life I have never known and I am LOVING it. Thank you! Judi
