Congrats sweetie!!!!!  I had my surgery a few months after you and I also didn't experience ANY complications until year 6 then WHAMMO..... bowel obstruction, TWICE!  Ugh... I also had a lot of scar tissue but I am doing ok now but very limited on my physical activity.  I can pretty much give up lifting anything heavy or doing stomach crunches anymore.  I had so much scar tissue in front of the obstruction that it took them almost an hour just to cut through that.  If I have a particularly strenuous day, my abdomen swells up pretty badly.  I am doing great otherwise on labs (they are fantastic and I am very lucky!).  Especially since I started out the first 2 years on Flintstone chewables with iron.  I know exactly how you feel... at least I got those first 6 years with nothing wrong and have had a great quality of life.  Congratulations again sweetie. Hugs, Dana

Well Hello Regular Person!  I can't wait to get to that status.  I keeping hoping one day to wake up and realize I am just a regular person.  I am still overweight...not at goal and have gained a few pounds....Not a lot but its a gain.  I have low white cell count which dr believes is a B problem.  I am scared it won't improve even with the addition of B complex to my vitamin regime.  I wished DS was available to me at the time I had surgery but it wasn't.  It was my second choice...first was lap band because I looked at that not rearranging anything but my insurance would not cover it...so what was left to me was RNY.  I am not unhappy with the choice at all.  I am grateful there was something to help me.  I feel so good these days even with my few problems with cramps from something kinking in the stomach area when something is tight on stomach or legs crossed a certain way and low white counts.  I knew there was a chance to have problems and I am dealing with them.  Its better than the alternative...wheel chair and nursing home bound from being too heavy!  I am sure if I waited another year I would have hit 500 lbs easy!  I am so glad life is good.  I am glad to be as healthy as I am....I wouldn't trade it for the world! Debbie
