Plastic Surgery

Hi everyone! I'm new to the boards (well after being "absent" for several years). I'm new to the Georgia area from Dallas, TX where I had my Open RNY done in 2002 by Dr. Barzune in Medical City Dallas. I am now looking into having a Tummy Tuck and BA done, but i'm not sure who a good plastic surgeon is in the Atlanta area. Also, how do you guys get approved on your insurance for the plastic surgery? I can probably get financing now, but would rather wait on that and see if my insurance would pay for any of it. Congratulations on youe weight lost and keeping off since 2002.I would check the list from this site first and see who is listed that is also knows how to deal with WLS patients.Look for one that will help you seek insurance approval.And after you check the list if you know someone in the area or at a support group that has use a certain surgreon.I hope this helps.............bob

Greetings. I was taught in nursing school document, document, document. The same holds true if you are trying to get insurance to cover the TT. If you've had rashes, if your stomach is effecting your activities of daily living you need to start recording that. You need to make your primary doctor aware so he/she can start to document that you are coming in with these complaints. The insurance company will look for that info before they even consider coverage. I had 3 letters of support and photos but they wanted another letter of support. They did eventually cover the procedure.  To get more info on a PS in the Atlanta area why don't you post on the GA boards. I'm sure someone there will have a name for you.
