Vacation weight gain & loss
Hi Gang
I havent been here much lately because I was on Vaction from May 17th til May 28th. My Pooh bear took me on a cruise for my Birthday. We had a lovely time and I tried to eat as healthy as possible even though I was stuck with an 8:30 pm dinner time. I walked more than I do when im not on vacation but on my first full day home my scale had me up 4 pounds. The good news it that as of this morning I am back to where I was pre trip. Everyday I am amazed at just how well my new tummy works when I use it properly. I have always ALWAYS put on an average of 15 pounds in a weeks vacation ( Vacation use to mean eating very snowcone/ funnel cake/ cookie in site) and then if I was ever able to get it off it took months.
Just want to say glad to be back (ok Id really rather still be lounging in Haiti ) and still super happy with my WLS decision.

Diana,
Good for you! Lucky you - I have heard that cruising in Haiti is lovely. My DH and I are celebrating our 30th next year by going on a cruise. I have actually done well on cruises in the past so suspect that me and the pouch will be okay but it's good to hear that someone else survived a cruise vacation relatively unscathed!

Hi Diana,
Glad to hear you enjoyed your cruise, aren't they great...And that you are back in the groove again from vacation weight gain...I too found that I picked up 5 pesky lbs on my 1st post WLS cruise, even with the daily 1 mile around the poop deck every morning, I still managed to eat enough extra cals on the cruise ship to put on the extras - but as you also noted, as soon as I got home and back to my regular eating plan the lbs began dropping off and I was back to normal in about 2 weeks off the ship...
Well said, that is is awesome how well the pouch works when you work it...Welcome back to the boards...

I am back from vacation as well....its funny I was up 10 lbs and in two days down 5 lbs. Vacation is nice but it takes away from routine that I desparately need to keep the weight at bay....My routine has been disturbed for the last nine months and its really hard staying on track. I have to be committed to myself to work at losing. I hope this boost of 5 lbs will help kick start a trend for me.

Congrats, Diana. I'm happy that you got that weight back off right away. I went on my first and only cruise in January 2006 (I was about 2-1/2 years out at that point). We cruised the Hawaiian islands, and it was spectacular. I would love to go on another one - anywhere! I didn't gain on the cruise, but I don't know if it would be the same now that I'm further out. I would be more than willing to take the risk though! LOL Glad you had a good time.
