Hi Everyone,
I have been visiting this forum for quite some time now but haven't posted until now. I had my surgery in July of '06 and went from 274 to 174 by January. In the past 3 months, my appetite came back in a BIG way and I am embarrassed to admit that I am up to 186 as of this morning. After seeing everyone's success with the Time Out, I have decided to try it.
My eating has been completely out of control, huge portion (for a WLS patient) and I am all about the carbs. I think that the TIme Out is just what I need to get my head on "straight" again. I am worried I am going to be starving though and as a result, cranky. I will be checking in each day and would love some support. This site is my lifeline and gets my through some of the worst days. I appreciate everyone's honesty about their struggles as it makes me feel less alone. Good luck to everyone out there!

Hi, Kimberly
I, too, plan on starting Time Out tomorrow. I had RNY April, 2003 and went from 260 to l55 & I had no problem maintaining that loss until 2007. It seems like I could eat anything for the lasst 4 years & I wouldn't gain an ounce & then, all of a sudden, the scale is going up, up, & away. I've gained 15 lbs. back & I'm scared. I have felt like Cinderella the last 4 yrs., & I don't want to turn back into the big Pumpkin! I've turned back to reading this web-site for encouragement & this is where I've read about Time Out. Yes, I'm one of those who are guilty of "grazing" & eating a lot of sweets now. I hope Time Out will get me on the "straight & narrow" once again.
To Kimberly & all you others starting TO, let's keep close tabs and help each other to pull through these tough 2 weeks. Does everyone have their Nectar & Crystal light ready? Tomorrow I take all my leftovers in the frig that will spoil to my daughter's house.
Wishing all of you Good Luck tomorrow & a good night's sleep.

Hi Carolynn,
Thank you so much for sharing your personal experience. I know all too well how much I need the encouragement of this site. I love knowing that there is someone else who will be starting this program tomorrow. I have my Nectar (lemonade and fuzzy navel) as well as crystal light ready to go for the morning.
I ditched all of the leftovers and asked my roomies to keep away from the snack cabinet. I look forward to checking in with one another over the next two weeks!
Hi Kimberly. I had been grazing, eating the wrong foods in large quantities and drinking with meals too. I've been losing and gaining the same weight since November. This started after I had my first plastic surgery.
I decided very recently that I had to do something drastic to get myself back on track. Someone on this board shared the time out plan.
I thought it would be a good way for me to get back on track and retrain my pouch. So here I am.
Day one was the most difficult but I was determined to get through it no matter what. Each day got easier! I was never hungry or feeling weak or dizzy. Actually I have a lot more energy!
If I can do it, so can you! Take it one day at a time and come here and share your experience.
We are in this together!

Hi Lucy,
Thank you so much for the encouragement. I know that if I can get through the first day without chewing my own arm off, I can do it :)
I will be sure to check in each day. I need both the accountability and the support. This board has been a lifesaver for me and as you said, we are in this together. Even though we are all essentially strangers, I take comfort in knowing that there are people out there who know and understand every step of my struggle.
Blessings,
Kimberly
Hi everyone !!!
I too am starting the Time Out today! I am actually having to do a little modified T. O. today though because I forgot to pack my protein powder to take to work, so I am having a salad with some protein and no starchy carbs for lunch and then I will have my protein shake when I get home and then another for dinner. Tomorrow I will be on the real T.O!! I could really use the support from others doing this as well!!!! My RNY was in 2002 and I have since gained back around 45 pounds......My goal is 125 and I am at 155 right now.
Thanks and good luck to you!!!

I have been reading some posts about the TO. I too want to start on Monday. I tried to find the original post but I can't. I was told that there are different variations of it. I can't drink any of the nectar proteins. I gag trying to drink any flavor of nectar. I can drink the Body Fortress vanilla & chocolate protien powders. Those are the only 2 that I can drink. I have tried several different ones! Can you please tell me exactly what the TO consist of?
Thanks,
Betty
It's not fancy. Really just a liquid diet with protein shakes. No meals and at least 64 ounces of water. Very straigforward but not for everyone although it is working great for me. If you don't adhere to the correct way of eating when you come off of it you will regain it all back really quick though. It is great for getting your head straight and giving your pouch a break! Good Luck! Molly
