You're so cool Rachael. Happy weekend. I am off to entertain my kids in the sun. I feel like staying home but must do my mommy duty and get the kiddos active out in the nice weather. Plus it will help keep me out of the kitchen, ect!

Hi Rachel. I am using the nectar drink and like it. You're doing very well. Hang in there, the pounds will drop. Lucy

Here is a copy and paste from one my answer to this question a few threads down. Also, if you are very curious in researching this method you can page back through this forum about 6 or 7 pages and find lots of good info. I also know and have heard of a few other postops taking this approach. It is drastic, like our original surgery almost but so worth it. Good luck! Well, the real answer is that you should visit with your surgeon BUT for me, it was a very personal thing. My eating was out of control. I could eat a 6 inch Subway sandwich, two pieces of pizza, Starbucks butterhorns, (sheesh! I hate confessions) ect. I was totally hooked on carbs and was just very depressed and overwhelmed about the whole thing. Just like old times. This program is 3 Nectar shakes a day and all the sugar free, non-carbonated drinks you can drink. At least 64 ounces. That is it. No solids. Do a search about 6-8 pages back in this forum and look for a post by Patty Butler. She explains what it is and her surgeon makes all of his patients go on this program anytime they show a 2 or 3 pound gain until they give up and start eating properly and keeping it off. I haven't seen Patty around here and haven't gotten an email reply back from her either but I really appreciate her telling us all about this and she might be suprised at how many people are doing it here in her absence. I am very thankful for her inspiration. I started this time out plan to reset my pouch and my brain and to take off a bunch of weight. I know "going back to basics" and following the rules of the pouch like "Pouch Rules for Dummies" are all totally ideal but I really had to do some hard core soul searching before I started this. Almost like finally decideing to have surgery in the first place and then being newly postop! AND I haven't had weight drop off me like this since that time either.  Anyway, I think you will KNOW if you start to gain 2 or 3 pounds and need to go on the attack right away to get it under control. My lowest weight was about 145 or so (for like a day) and then I got back up to 165 last week before I hit rock bottom and started this liquids only deal. Now I am 159.5 and will stay on liquids til I can get some more of that off. Then I will enjoy my greens and salads again with maybe a devied egg for dessert.

Hello, My name is Kathy and I am 4 1/2 years post op and until I read this thread I thought I was all alone in my struggle with regaining... needed to lose 250 pounds to get to goal - lost 170 and started gaining (35 so far) stopped myself from the destructive eating/grazing that was making me gain but have not been able to reverse the gain and start losing again for 2 years. I am scared to think about trying this Time Out Plan.. guess scared that I won't make it through 1 day without failing. But I am going keep reading any posts on this thread topics and try to gain the courage and fortitude to try again from all the postive posts.   I really think resetting my pouch and starting over is key, but I have failed so much I'm afraid to try.  Thanks for sharing all of your struggles and victories Kathy 400/230/265

Hi Kathy. I can tell you that the first day had many challenges. I had to focus on why I was being so restrictive. I needed to gain some self control. My pouch became too adaptable, though it was my doing. I was the one who slowly increased by food intake, grazing between meals and even drinking with meals. All bad behavior. The self hate became evident again. I was getting tired of losing and gaining the same pounds. Now when I gain a couple of pounds, I feel like I gained 20. I don't like the feeling of tightness and swelling. When I was SMO and gained a few pounds, I didn't even feel it. Now being at goal. any little gain is significant. I knew I had to get this under control. I worked so hard to get to where I am. I love my new life and that means that I have to control my appetite and deal with stress in another way. It's going to take some time, but I will never give up! You will make it through the first day and then build from there. Nothing feels so good as when you get up in the morning and say to yourself, I made it! Each day becomes a bit easier. I can say that I was not physicaly hungry. It was all appetite. I didn't feel weak or sick. Actually, I felt the best I have been in some time. Give it your all. You are worth it. You've come so far!! I have faith in you. Keep us posted. We are all here for each other. One thing is we understand what you and others are going through, because we have been there, Hugs, Lucy
