Good morning everyone! I went to weigh****chers today and weighed in. After only 4 days on the Time Out Plan, I lost 12 pounds!!! I can't believe it. Today, I'm going to shake things up a bit. I'm going to have a very small salad with a few shrimps and 2 nectar protein drinks. I don't want my body to go in the starvation mode and stop losing. I have my surgeon appointment on Friday for my 2nd year surgianniversary and want to have a loss since I saw him in November. I feel so much better! Thanks to everyone for your support and to those who shared the Time Out Plan on this board. It WORKS! Hugs, Lucy

Oh. My. Goodness!!! That is so awesome Lucy! Thanks for starting this thread. Yesterday I did pretty well. I had A cup of coffee with SF creamer, 3 Nectar Shakes and a butt load of water, Crystal Light (Sunrise flavor tasts just like Tang), and at night a herbal tea to help with costipation with some SF jello (hot) mixed in for a treat (it worked, btw sorry if TMI). Wow, my idea of a "treat" has changed a lot in a week. This morning after my weigh in I realized that it has actually been a week TODAY that I started this plan NOT yesterday like my post said yesterday, LOL! Sheesh...I need to keep better records.  Anyway, so last Saturday I started out at 165.5 and this morning I weigh 158. So, that is 7.5 lbs in a week!!! I am so happy about this. MY MAIN GOAL is to lose weight and not hurt myself in the process. So far, I feel awesome. I do not feel weak, shaky, hungry, nervous, and all that like I did when I was eating sugar everyday. If I start to feel like crap I absolutely will heed my body's warning and begin eating real food.  Today is a workout day and I am pushing a hundred pound stroller around the waterfront with my two kids inside so I am taking in an extra protein shake and even more water. Have a great weekend everyone! Molly

Thanks Molly! I am having a little more food today so that my body doesn't act like it is in starvation. Tomorrow I will do my protein drinks again... Lucy

Hi Molly You and I both started out at the same weight of 165.  I am doing a modified Time Out,  I have the nectar drink for breakfast, salad or a small protein lunch, nectar drink for snack and then a small sencible dinner,  Since last Sunday I have lost 6 pounds!  I am  now down to 159.  I would like to get to my first goal of 150 and then if I can get to my long term goal of 145.  I can't lose too much more than that because of the TT.  The Dr told me that if I lose too much my tummy will get flabby again,  I am noticing the difference already with just 6 pounds in my pants,  They are loose again,  I refuse to try on size 8's because if they fit I will then start spending more $$$ on smaller clothes so I decided that even if the 10's are a little loose in the waist I can deal with that,  My DH will KILL me if I spend more $$$ on clothes,  You might say I GOT CARRIED AWAY BIG TIME WITH THE SIZE 10'S.  Anyway I am so proud of myself and will continue,  I think a big part of my weight loss is the fact that I cut out coffee with creamer. I have been drinking nothing but crystal light but yesterday I treated myself to a cup of coffee with Hazelnut creamer,  I think if I even have one cup a day as compared to the 8-10 I WAS drinking will not harm me in the least,  I am going to try and stay away but if I feel I really need a pick me up will use the coffee as an afternoon reward this way I have something to look forward to later on in the day. Good Luck and I am hoping to post continued success in another few days!

That is so cool about the coffee...I should try to cut mine out too. I do adore good coffee though and am quiet the coffee slave. Hey, about the clothes...where do you shop and what brands do you like? I am a major clothes person too and have really learned to do it on the cheap.

Well, my wardrobe consists of Victoria Secret (jeans, sweaters, tops, bras, panties) I find that the clothes do fit rather nicely, along with Levis and Newport News. I am taking a break from doing some reorganizing and have found that  I have enough clothes to last me for eternity!  LOL Talk to you soon!

I really hope you all give yourselves the credit you deserve for your efforts in self-care!! I have been so grateful for finding this support, I have been wanting to do "something" to get back in control for a few months now but hadn't found anything I felt invested in until this site.  This is actually my 5th day and I would have been hard pressed to imagine one and a half cheese sticks would make me feel like I have had "enough"!!!! I have to admit I still have a mild headache and I am a bit puzzled by it. It is not caffeine withdrawal (don't discount those, they can be killer) and it is already day 5 without sugar so I cannot imagine that being the key. I have not been drinking enough water, that is for sure, and although my urine is not concentrated which would indicate dehydration, perhaps there may be some connection. I am going to make more of an effort to drink today and see if it makes a difference. I managed to be fairly successful yesterday with... lge iced coffee protein shake 5oz baked fish with the ritz cracker crumbs caaaaaaaarefully scraped off scoop of tuna salad with celery sticks bowl of cucumber slices slightly dipped in dressing lge iced coffee 4 oz of boneless pork chop SF jello Now that I see it, I missed a protein shake in there! I will work on that more today as well.  Here's to us!!!!

I have had headaches before that were cured by sipping lots of water all day long. At somepoint along the way...not sure when, I realized my headache is gone.  You can get sugar withdrawls though and it makes me crabby.  Hope you have an awesome day!

Melady, thanks for your post. I haven't had any headaches or any side effects from doing the Time Out Plan. Maybe it is the water. I know when I don't get enough water in, I feel weak.

Yes, here's to us! Lucy

That's totally awesome!  Wow... I haven't lost that much, but am glad the scale moves every day.  I am down four pounds in 5 days.  Not too shabby.  I am running low on protein though.  I ordered some nectar on Monday and it hasn't shown yet and I depleted my samples and the tub of unjury I have only has a few more shakes in it.  Hoping it will show today!  Even my husband is excited for me.  He thinks it is great that I don't feel hunger while I am doing this.  I think he's sees that as the biggest plus after the surgery.  (he's never had it).  He struggles with his weight....too a much lesser extent than most of us, and is the type to stop eating right because he feels so darn hungry.   I am just so happy to see the scale moving.  It has really done a lot for making me feel like I can actually reach my goal weight...the weight that means I am no longer overweight.  That's so awesome to be so close to my goal...to a normal weight.  I am so psyched.  Ugh..I just can't get over that.  Thanks everyone for being so supportive this week.  It has given me 'CPR' so to speak in my journey.  Not to mention the great words of encouragement regarding starting my chaplaincy on Monday.   Rachael
