Frst off I am 45 yrs old and was seen by my woman doctor and this is not me starting the changes.  When I am finished eating my meal I get what you can describe are the Hot Flashes.  I get very hot and actual start to sweat.  This seems to happen right after I eat.   Anyone else have this experience??

I also used to get that sometimes.  It usually happened when I ate higher sugared foods - especially stuff like ketchup.  I would stick my head in the freezer just to coll down.  Now I limit myself on how much ketchup or refined sugars I eat and I don't get it as much. No porblems the last few days since I've onyl been drinking liquids.    Do you have contact with your surgeon?  What about your PCP?  I wish I could tell you more...

It is probably reactive hypoglycemia - the body overreacts to the sugars taken in (sugars meaning carbohydrates not necessarily sugar-sugar).  You probably want to check blood sugar when you feel this way.  Keep track of what you are eating before it happens and when it doesn't.  Mostly like it is happening if you are eating a fair number of simple carbohydrates without any protein or fat along with it. Good luck, Kathy

This has happened to me as well.  Mostly if I eat carbs for breakfast.  I can't do that and I know it, but sometimes there aren't any protein choices and I will have a carb.  Within an hour, I get really hot and usually shaky.  Then I have to eat something quick to make it start to go away. What did your doctor say about it? Good luck, Tamara

I do this often. Sometimes I turn kind of white and flushed. It could be eating to fast, to much carbs as posted in the other message. My heart started to beat fast sometimes I have to go lay down until it passes. I don't think it will ever go away for me. My fasting blood sugar is normal but I was taking it for a while and it would go up 300 and then down to 30 other times. My doctors have no idea what to do about it. It has gotten better then when I was 6 months to a 1year ou****ch what and how fast you are eating that may help some. Kim 11/2004 268/153
