Hello and Good Morning to All !! Got alot of responses yesterday...Pretty much everyone is not totally happy with their food choices in some way and it seems all of us are working hard to get back on program...I want to send a shout out to ALL of you and tell you how proud I am of  each of you posting and taking account and doing the steps to make it better...Thanks for joining me in accountability and baring it all for the OH world to see... I was very happy with my choices yesterday, did not overdo and any one area and got in my requisite liquids, my only self critisism is that my daily fat totals are higher than I would like, I keep remembering the early days (1st year) when my was meeting with the Nut regularly and she was harping on keeping fat @ 30 % of my total food intake for the day, was hard then and honestly I really don't work to hard at keeping it that low now...Rarely look at the part of the label that help you calculate % of fat to make sure I choice items with less then 30% of the cals coming from fat - really think I need to get back to this (just ruminating  ) On to food: B - 2 protein balls S - Oh Yeah, choc and p/b protein bar L - 1 cup salad with 1/2 cup cucumbers, 1/4 cup dried fruit & nuts, 2.5 oz roasted  chicken breast       and 1.5 tbsp herb vinegrette dressing       2 club crackers D - 2 small eggs, scrambled       1 beef sausage link       1 bite garlic toast w/ 1 tbsp black bean - n- pepper salsa PLUS   90 oz water/crystal light TOTALS =     Cals - 1246     Fat - 74     Carbs - 70     Protein - 81    BIG smile for everyone...Alesia

Hi Anita, Looks like a good day and sounds like a great plan...I too like to have an occasional day where the focus is liquid meals, helps to refresh my attitutude about food and get me back on track when the numbers start creeping in an upward direction...You will feel better about carbs in no time...  Keep up the good work!!!  Alesia

Back at ya Anita, I notice in the boards several people are trying a modified version of the "time out"... I know I have done days were I sub-ed out 3-4 mini meals as liquids to help get myself back on track and try to detox a little from carbs,  think this time out plan has alot of merits as long as you follow some basic rules of nutrician when you are on it and listen to what your body is really saying to you, so you don't end up going off the deep end...  Hello Lucy, You may not remember me, its been so long, but we are fellow posties from the June 2005 surg board...I'm watching that Time Out  post with interest, since I always want to see what others are doing and to get fresh ideas on how to work through my personal food issues...I like this idea and may utilize it in the future if I run into major upswings...However, so far I've managed to keep it in pretty good control and not overreached my personal goal to keep gain/loss within a 5 lb window of my maintenance weight...Accounting really works well for me... Congrats on making it through your 1st day, soon you'll have conquered the food demons within and be back on track...  Alesia

I had a good day as well and it shows on my scale today as I have lost 2 of the 4 pounds i gained. I dont know why i get like this.. Well, well, Ms. Carla, you did have a very good day...Congratulations ...Beat back those sneaky pounds... I know what you mean about Aunt Flo coming to town, she's at my place now and the food cravings are hard on me, all calling for high carbs and CHOCOLATE (the real kind)...We had a pot luck at my office today and you will see in tomorrow food post that the carbs really won out today ...Trying hard to remind myself who is in control...Tomorrow I will be starving myself for a big part of the day because I have pre-op for my surgery and then go for my 2 year bloodwork tests for my surgiversary...No food  and only plan water until all the blood for both events has been drawn so don't think I will be eating until late afternoon, I'm going to cheat and chalk todays excesses up to camel storage for tomorrows starvation ( think thats legit )
