Hi ya! I'm kinda in the same place as you cause I have gained back 20 due to a lot of family stresses and my wake up call was having to suck it in to zip up my pants again. Today I am starting over and going all old school with the rules. If you need a friend I am here and we can share a paddle in this little weight gain boat we are in. :)

Hi Sweetie!  Please don't beat yourself up about this.  Stumbling and falling down is not "failure"  - staying down is failure.  By making thispost, you have already taken the first crucial step in the right direction.  Take baby steps one day at a time.  It's too hard to try to break all your bad habits at once.  Pick one small goal per week - such as grazing on raw veggies only for the week or such as going on three 10 minute walks for the week or no fast food for the week, etc.  Set yourself up for success by focusing on SMALL alltanable goals.  That is probably the most valuable thing I have learned from Weigh****chers - yes, I joined post-op to try to get myself back in control and get closer to goal.

I totally understand about the gym.  I, too, do not go for fear of looking ridiculous.  My advice on that is to go to Walmart and spend $10 on a Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds 1 & 2 mile DVD.  I saw it there the other day for $10 and change.  It gives you two complete workouts - a 20 minute one mile walk and a 35 minute two mile walk.  If you are not familiar with them, it it basically marching in place with kicks, knee raises, and arm movements.  You can start with the one mile and work your way up from there. Good Luck!

Jesus is so good to me;  I couldn't ask for a better friend, protector, leader, savior!

Thanks Tracy for the words of encouragement.   I will definite look into the DVD you suggested.  I have been trying to workout at my home for 30 minutes in the morning - I figure if I do that until I get a little bit more fit then I will head back to the gym.  I enjoy the gym ONCE I'm THERE!!  It's just GETTING there that is the hard part! Right now I have been doing my Richard Simmons workouts, but I HATE them!!  They go so fast and I miss all the steps and get so darn frustrated!!  I want to kick his butt!!  LOL Thanks again for your encouragement!!

Good Morning Dear Soul, Sooo many fears can block our dreams and joy.  I'd suggest two courses of action: First, find a really good counselor in your area who can help you with rebuilding self-love and confidence, tackling emotional eating, and breaking down the mental/emotional walls to your success.  If the cost is an issue, many counselors WILL offer their services at a reduced, sliding scale rate, based on your income and what you can afford.  Pastors often do this for free.   I have been in counseling for emotional eating, depression, and anxiety for over a year now.  It has been the single most helpful step I have ever taken to rebuilding a happy, healthy life thus far.  I don't pay a dime either, because my insurance will cover 70% and my counselor is writing off the balance b/c she knows I cant afford it with all the medical bills I'm paying in prep for surgery.  So I really urge you to seek out this service. Second, screw the old gym!  Find a lovely new place where you feel comfortable and inspired.  I LOVE Curves and/or Fit Zone for Women.  Both are for women only, and attended by women of all ages, shapes, sizes, and fitness levels.  The facilities cater to the fitness needs and interests of women and many locations include one-on-one coaching and support groups.  So look at a new facility and make whatever transfer YOU need to be healthy and motivated. Don't worry about what will happen when you get to the gym.  Just focus all your energy and efforts into worrying about GETTING there.  Focus only on having to lace up your shoes.  Then focus on filling a water bottle.  Then tell yourself you have to get in the car... one      step      at     a      time.  The rest will take care of itself. Hugs.  You CAN do this! Heather

Thanks Heather!  I appreciate your uplifitng words!  I do have insurance coverage that would cover my therapy sessions.  I think I need to find a therapist who specializes in eating disorders because as much as I would talk about it to my old therapist - she didn't help much when it came to eating issues.   My HARDEST thing is getting myself to the gym.  I can do the eating thing - but when it comes to the gym...I HATE it!!!  Which is strange considering 1 1/2 years ago I was a gym rat and had a trainer and everything...I have never looked better in my life...you would think I would WANT to do that again...I think my porblem is I am looking at the WHOLE picture instead of taking baby steps... I will get motivated ----you all are helping me SOOOO much with that!  THanks!!     You're The Best
