I am so excited to be posting this! A few days ago I was terribly depressed. On the way home from taking my DD home from pre-school I attacked a left over container of ice cream with a flimsy straw It was the last day of school and the teacher asked all of the parents to bring things for an Ice Cream Sundae Feast. Well, upon picking her up I was inevidibly sent home with a semi-melted tub of ice cream that was left over. Feelings of shame, saddness and anxiety washed over me as I pulled into my garage after eating/slurping at that container while driving! I took the rest of it and slam dunked it into the garbage can. My poor little kids (they are 3 and 4 were wondering why mommy was tossing good ice cream).  I had tears in my eyes as I trudged into the house to get my kids down for a nap. When they were finally asleep I logged onto OH for the first time in a while! I posted about regain a few weeks ago but had done nothing about it!  Knowing that I HAD to make a major change or face regaining all of the weight I have lost over the past 2.5 years.  Over the past few months I had set a course of self destruction without meaning to! Old habits snuck up on me and I used food to console myself. I was eating popcorn every night, nachos, cookies, cake, ect!!! While at the same time getting in all my protein. Sooo...that amounted to tons of calories a day! I couldn't stop myself. I am just being totally honest here but I was secretly eating my DK's candy when they were not looking and would eat all kinds of crap. I was truly so disguested with myself. My defining moment was the ice cream in the van. The defining post that I read was the one from Patty Butler regarding her surgeon's TIMEOUT plan! Right away I started researching going back on liquids to "reset my my pouch" and to get ahold of myself. I scoured the internet as well as OH's library on long term postops going back on liquids as Patty's Doc had instructed. To my very pleasant suprise this was not that novel of a concept. I found lots things on it in the Q &A section and am sure that it will give me the detox from food that I need as well as helping me reset my pouch. So...many of you will say to check with my surgeon before embarking on a program such as this BUT my surgeon is far, far away and I do not have a local bariatric doctor here nor is one covered under my insurance. I do however have my PCP on my side for aftercare but in large part it is all up to me to decide what is best and my labs have always been good. So, yes, I agree in a perfect world it is ideal to check with your surgeon to find out what is best but OH is *MY* best resource. I have bought a bunch of different containers of Nectar and am enjoying those shakes 3X a day mixed with water. I am drinking a ton of water and also drink 1 cup of moring coffee with sugarfree creamer and sweet and low. At night I drink a bulion cube for dinner with my family since my little kids look at me to model eating at the table with them after praying, ect. I sit and watch them eat while I sip on my broth out of my pretty cup and saucer.  Sooo...I am a shameless band wagon jumper! I HAVE to be and after my research I firmly believe that going back to liquids for at least two weeks and then eating as a new postop again will greatly benefit resetting my pouch.  So, today, is my third day on full liquids to reset my pouch after I have been abusing it for awhile. Yesterday I went to a BBQ and a church gathering with lots of my favorite treats and sipped water and Nectar Protein the whole time. I will start a roll call just incase any of you want to do this with me to regain control just as Patty Butler has inspired me to do. I am down 4 pounds in 3 days! Molly 252/161/135

Count me in on the roll call!  I too have been following some of the posts about Time Out.  I called my surgeon's office to get their blessing to do this.  At first, they said, "Well, you need to come in and let's try to figure out why you are regaining."  Ummm..... too much food, too much stress, too little exercise.  Seems like a great equation to regain!  They eventually agreed and said that a few weeks of protein shakes only would not hurt my metabolism.  I have not been doing strictly shakes; I have tossed in some crunchy veggies with some of those salad spritzers and a few protein bars.  But I have dramatically upped my protein and water while decreasing my overall calories and particularly carbs.  I'm down 6 pounds.  But more importantly, when I do eat "solid" food, I'm noticing that I fill up much quicker again just like fairly new post-op. I don't track on fitday because I'm not always in front of a computer.  But for you PDA folks out there that are running Windows Mobile, there is an awesome program called MyPersonalDiet that does the same thing! Anyway, count me in the roll call!  We can all be in Time Out together.  This will be one crowded Time Out corner!

Hey Kris! That is awesome about your surgeon giving you the green light to do this. I am kind of a Lone Ranger on my WLS journey and always have been besides of couse OH. So..."if it's to be it's up to me!" I am planning to stay on this program for at least two weeks and then start eating like a new postop by eating like a new postop. As far as sitting in front of a computer all day...I do that! The only problem is that I am a Powerseller on eBay and am constantly concentrating on that. It had been forever since I have been active on this site or logged onto fitday.com. I am also joining Michele (vitalady's) support group so that will help! Thanks for the shout out! Molly
