Protein drinks
Happy Friday to everyone!
I have a question for you, has anyone out there found a protein drink or powder that tastes good and is high in protein? I never resorted to this in the past, but my GB surgeon has recommended me getting more protein in, and suggested this route to do so. I need to get back to basics, and I think I am going to do the "Time Out" plan for a while to see if I can get things moving again, and if I can find a good protein drink/powder, I can do it.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Happy Friday back to you
I like to use Muscle Milk you can buy it in powder form or pre-made, it comes in a ton of flavors even a low sugar version. It is really good. I also have found that Iron -Tek is really good, it mixes really well and does not have a chalky after taste.

I am in the same boat as you. I had my RNY on 05/27/02 and I got down to 119. I am now around 160!!! I just ordered the Syntrax Nectars in Fuzzy Navel and it is ok. There is a lady that on this board that was really helpful in letting me know about the Time Out program. Her surgeon put her on the Nectars three times a day. Anyhow, I just received my order and the drinks are not bad. They are 90 calories and no carbs and no fat. They are 23 grams of protein each! I have also been going to Smoothie King and getting the Gladiator smoothie which is 45 grams of protein and no fat and no carbs. The only thing is they are a little expensive so I can't afford to go there three times a day, which is why I bought the nectars. The website is www.syntrax.com.
Good luck to you!

Protein is still the most valueable building block of good health, especially for RNY patients. I stand by Unjury Protein powders. It mixes easily, tastes good and is about $1.10 per serving, with shipping. I prefer Chocolate and Vanilla. They also have unflavored, strawberry and chicken flavored powders. The website is www.unjury.com. Lots of great info and small sample sizes. Here's to good health for all of us!

i like the Walker Diet Protein powder. I like it because it has lots of vitamins in it. I do not use it for my vitamins, but I figure every little bit helps. I like the chocolate. I heat a cup of water in my microwave for 1 1/2 minutes and stir in the powder. It does not desolve complete, but with the help of a spoon it is okay. I sometime have to dip out a little undesolved powder and eat it with the spoon. Really it is not bad at all. If you get the water too hot the powder changes, and it is not good. I have heard if you get protein too hot it loses something. Sure do not want to use the effectiveness of the drink.
Anybody know about this? i think you can get Walker at www.Vitacost.com.
i plan to try the nectars, but have not ordered any yet.
