I did WW starting at about 6 months post-op. I believe in the plan and I wanted to re-learn portion control before I got my hunger back. I did the points for about 3 months. The most helpful thing for me back then was the weekly meetings, it was nice to be with a group of people with the same goal. For me, the points was too much leeway to eat bad carbs and even though I kept losing weight, I didn't feel physically good. In January I did the CORE plan along with following the 'rules of the pouch' and I actually liked that a lot better, but money was a factor so I quit for a while.
I think it's a great way of eating and dealing with food, whichever plan you chose. The online message boards are helpful for recipes, too. I wish you success.
PS congratulations on being alcohol free!
