Since it says there are 4 servings: 1/4 lb of beef is about 350 cals 1/4 of an onion is about 30 cals 4 oz of kidney beans is about 140 cals 4 oz of tomato sauce is about 40 cals 4 oz stewed tomatoes is about 40 cals I estimate it closer to say 600 cals. Kathy

If these cuonts are exactly right and it makes 4 man-sized servnigs, that's 186 cal/svg. If you only eat 1/2 serving, then it's only 93 cal!

You understand to subtract the fiber from the total carbs, right? All I count is sugar, and that's mainly tomatoes (they ARE a fruit), divided by 4, 2.2g per svg, and half of that is only 1.1g.

Looks like a VERY healthy meal to me.

Now the cornbread it is screaming for might be another matter! LOL

I was figuring a serving to be 8 oz (just guessing). I don't think I could eat 8 oz of something so hearty. I make something similar (Taco Soup) and can only eat about 1/2 cup of that. But my meals are over in 15 minutes or so. I don't wait til I don't feel full, then eat more. So, could be we started with different pouch sizes?

But even if you can do 8 oz ok, it's still much lower than you think!

The flip size of the srving size deal: a lady said she could drink OJ because it was only 22g of sugar IN THE WHOLE JUG! Um, no, it was 22g in 8 oz. LOL

I envy you.  I think I could eat at least 8 ounces of that, maybe more.  Not fair.  To me with the liquid that one is more of a slider.

I could eat 8 oz if I sat there with it. But since I'm a volume eater, I gotta get up and move away as soon as I feel full.

I can't trust me completely.

If you are very concerned about the calories you could substitute the ground beef with ground turkey which is about 160 cal for 4 oz ,almost half the amount of calories in the beef, and less fat. Sher
