Sheila, You have a pretty good day, so feel good about yourself...I know quite a few longer term post-ops who still have to supplement with protein bars and drinks because so many foods still just don't agree with their pouchies - I think the important part is to make sure you are getting enough protein and liquids in some form, and you have made great improvements in that, pat yourself on the back for continuing to do better ...Hope you get something useful out of your support group meeting...I still go to mine as often as possible, it makes me feel useful to share my experiences with others and sometimes I learn something useful from them... Hello Anita, Not a bad day content wise, as you noted yourself a little low on the protein side, but still a decent day...Have you ever considered adding unflavored protein powder to your muffin mixes ( notice 2 corn muffins, probably a fair # of cals and filling but not a good protein source without supplement) or maybe having a low cal protein drink before bed to beef up your daily count - I went thru a long period (around the 9 month mark) where my doc and nut were concerned about me not getting enough protein, I started doing 2 protein drinks a day then, 1 for breakfast, 1 as a bedtime snack, still do this once and a while if I have a low protein count near the end of any given day...
To figure the stats on the protein balls just add up each element of ingredients (ie how much cals in 1/2 cup pb, how much in 1/2 oatmeal, etc) then divide up each elements total by # of balls (9) - thats your stats for each protein ball... Alesia P.S. The best low cal high protein drink I've found is call Protein on the Go and I get it at Susan Maria's Bariatric Eating site (think it is on sale this month for $28) I love the choc/coconut and white choc/strawberry best, then the banana yogurt next best - just add water and I put mine in the freezer for about 10 minutes to get is super cold, only 112 cals and 21 grams of protein in an 8 oz bottle so doesn't add to much to the end of day total as far as cals go and since it comes in its own plastic bottle is great for travel...
