EXERCISE Befire and After WLS.....How much before?

Your SO probably doesn't realize how uncomfortable it is for a MO person to exercise.  I did exercise off and on (mostly off) when MO but when I decided to undergo surgery I started up again, I use the elliptical crosstrainer because it works both upper and lower body and is low-impact. Just because you don't currently exercise doesn't mean you can't or won't start!  It is indeed an essential part of my success.  The more you lose, the better you feel, and the easier it is to move!  I do a combination of strength/weight training and cardio.  At the beginning I did mostly cardio, then when I got to the last 20-30 pounds I kicked up the strength/weight training and still do that 2 times a week for an hour with a trainer.  I do cardio for an hour about 3 times a week. So, I do believe if you want to be successful you will get moving.  Now I miss it if I don't exercise (have had to quit for 6 weeks when I've had some plastics to remove excess skin. )  I don't love to exercise, but I love how I feel when I have finished it---strong, confident, proud that I make myself do it over and over again.  Believe me, it does get easier after some of the weight comes off!! As the saying goes, Just Do It! Hugs, Connie -147#
