Weight Shifting

So, is it possible to stay the exact same weight, but to feel different in your clothes? I haven't gained any weight, I eat pretty much the same things day in and day out but the fit of my clothes seems a little different~it seems like my thighs are a little thicker and my waist is smaller. My size 8's still fit, but the legs seems a bit tighter and the waist now has a huge gap that makes it almost impossible to keep my pants up properly without a belt on! What the heck?!?!? Today I was wearing a pair of jeans to church with a cami & sweater~the cami wasn't tucked in so I had to put a belt on to keep the jeans up! Am I weird????

Tracy, I know what you mean. I had on a pair of capri's the other day, that I wore last summer, and they feel tighter in the thighs and looser in the waist. Yet I have stayed the same for weight. Maybe things do shift around! Rhonda

Tracy, I haven't gained either (well not lately, but some from my lowest) but I'm also finding my pants fit differently.  I know the plastics play some part but my legs were smaller and now I find my shorts and jeans fit tighter in the thighs.  Good question!

I posted this exact same question on the main board a few weeks ago.  I got quite a few responses from people 2 years or more out that says your shape does change even though you stay the same weight wise.  It seems that between 18 months to years your body does redistribute fat.  Go fig.

I think this is why most plastic surgeons like you to wait about 2 years before surgery (if possible).   Kim

Tracy:  My recent return to regular exercise has definitely made a difference in where my weight is being carried.  My thighs actually feel a little larger, but look trimmer, if that's possible, and my waist actually seems a little smaller, even though my weight has remained the same.  This has been a good thing for me, as my pants usually feel the tightest in my waist area, and are generally OK in the thigh and butt.  So this has worked out pretty well.  I go to Curves a couple times a week, and walk with friends after work a couple days, or use the treadmill and ellipticals in our employee fitness center.  I'm just generally trying to be more active - my dog is benefitting too.  He and I are walking buddies now! Tracy- I'm not going crazy. The same thing has happened to me. I noticed about 3 years out that my thighs have gotten thicker. My weight has roughly been the same for the past three years. I even had someone comment at my lower point 141 that oh iIsee you have put on some weight... your thighs look heavier. My thighs are a size 8 but my body is a size 6.  Can't wait to do my thigh lift in Jan. Donna open rny mar 18 2003 282/144/140

I figured it was gravity but then I am in my 50's. I told my Mom the other day my butt is falling out of my underwear. I can find any to hold it up. Then only squi**** My hips fell to my butt. Yes my thighs feel larger and my waist smaller. Nice to know I am not so different. Laurie
