"Mom...You're So Weird!"

That seems to be the only thing that all three of my teen-strangers have in common...that phrase comes out of one of their mouths daily, along with the requisite eye-roll and dramatic sigh! This last time was prompted by an eating habit I developed in the last few months to "help" me with PMS cravings. The thundering herd(kids and 10 of their CLOSEST friends) filed in yesterday after school to hang out....the bottomless pits(boys) zero in on the "cookie" that I'm eating and slam into the kitchen looking for some.  The "I'm not REALLY hungry crowd"(girls) follow at a more leisurely pace.  After about 2 minutes of searching the usual hiding places, my children start to reprimand me for eating an entire batch of homemade "cookies".  "IT'S GOING TO MAKE YOU SO SICK...AND WE'RE NOT GOING TO FEEL SORRY FOR YOU!"  As soon as they give me a piece of their mind, my DD grabs my "cookie", takes a bite, and starts gagging.  This is when they all figure out that Mom's cookie is nothing more than a nuked serving of shredded cheese!!  Sorry kids, mom needs some crunch every once in a while!  I just take 1/3C of some shredded low-fat cheese and nuke it for about 2 minutes for it to acquire the crunch consistency of a potato chip.  I look forward to these every month! ROFLMAO, Julie!!!  Ahhhhhh, I don't miss those teen days at all!!!!  I love my empty nest - as a matter of fact, my daughter from NYC is coming home for a week today and I'm feeling depressed!  LOL - sad, huh?!?  Have a good weekend and thanks for the laugh!  Hugs!!!

Times like that?  I'd be telling them all to bug off............ I hate when other people try to "hold me accountable" for what I'm choosing to eat.  It's up to me to make good choices for myself.  You must be much better natured than I am.........lol   I think it's a hoot though that they thought they were catching you doing something wrong and was made to eat their words..............  I have a son who lives with me but he knows better than to get onto me for my choices.  I usually make good ones though, no need to give him amunition..............lol Carol J
