eating too fast
I can so relate to eating too fast. I am going to make a conscioius effort to eat slower and really taste and enjoy my food. I think lots of times I eat and put things in my mouth and don't even know if I liked it or not. That is usually when I am eating for some psychological reason rather than hunger. I, like you, use food in place of feelings. Food helped me to avoid some really unpleasant feelings. My therapist and I are working on me relearning how to feel and accept and deal with what I am feeling. The guilt thing is a big factor too. My pledge for today and in the coming days is to slow down and savor and enjoy my meals with no guilt. I WILL NOT sneak and eat. Have a good weekend. Melissa
I love this topic because it is soooooo me!! Eating fast has always been an issue for me - pre-op as well as now, and although I was more conscious about it immediately following surgery, that old habit has followed me throughout the years! I, too, will make a concentrated effort to slow down while eating and enjoy each bite!
