OK, now I'm worried.  Your ability to EAT calcium sources isn't of much help if your have a bypass or DS.   Food calcium bypasses the appropriate "absoprtion station" for all those things: protein iron calcium A, D, E B1 B12 zinc So, all of those should be supplemented.  In specific forms.  The D has to be DRY and it has to be D3.  We need vit D in the THOUSANDS of units, not the 100's and the spec in food is not converted from its food source to the treasured D3 we need.  The test you need is the D, 25 hydroxy.  But also, grab your parathyroid (PTH, intact) while you're at it, cuz apparently you've been unsupplemented since your surgery? If you write to me at my regular email, I can send you the list of labs you need.  [email protected]

Michelle - I tried to email you but for some reason my e-mail is receiving messages but won't send out....??????? (weird) I'm camping this weekend and running out the door as I type - I will fix it when I get back on Sunday or email from DH's computer. or you can email me at [email protected] I didn't know about the "Dry" D.....oh....this is crazy.....5 years out and I'm clueless.  (Not very like me, I must admit - guess I just took this all too lightly)  Thanks so much.  I'll be on the forums from now on and will post a pic soon. Thanks
