Bonnie, You are truely an inspiration!!  I visited your site and read your story and saw your pictures.  Amazing!!! I'm exactly 3 weeks out from TT and breast lift.  In 6 months I'll do the thighs, arms and a revision of the waist (only so much they could disrupt at one time...) then I'm DONE!  Yes I could stand to have the butt done and yes, I could have some other things done, but hey, I'm nearly 54, not trying to look 25. Thank your for your inspiration!! Trisha

Hey Violet! My surgery was 9/6/01 - over 5.5 years ago! (heading toward 6 before I know it!)  Have been maintaining a 130 loss almost 3 years now and am getting healthier by the day. Fighting the MENTAL effects of a 3 lb gain - the past month or so.  I'm training for the 3-Day Breast Cancer walk (60 miles - 20 per day for 3 days) in August - so I'm a walking fool & gaining muscle weight. BUT I STILL DON'T LIKE WHEN THE SCALE CREEPS UP - even if it IS muscles!  Silly me. I feel great and will HAVE to train my mind to relax! Good for you for reaching out & connecting!

Thank you  for the warm welcome.  Funny, I lurked for years never feeling a need to post and now, I think I've posted 4 or 5 times in one day!

Hey Violet! I had my open RNY in 01 and I'll be 6 years out this August.  I went from 325 to a few month low of 155 but my average is between 165-170.  I have to WORK at keeping it within a 10 pound range also!  When eat what I want (and get sick too!) I gain like a normal person.  I've gotten as high as 182 but I always go back to the pouch rules and get it off again.  I have a friend who is only 3 years out and she has gained back 60 pounds and eats like she never had surgery.  Everyone I've talked to has gained weight back and that is what scares me into keeping to the rules so I can stay within my range.   I don't even remember what it's like to be MO anymore.  I've been this weight for so long it just feels like I've always been this way.  I never got to my goal weight because I've cheated from the beginning but I still have low blood sugar times about an hour or two after I eat something sweet.  And when I eat things with a lot of fat in them, I feel pain from my left arm across my chest into my right arm and it feels horrible!   My body does great when I eat right so I try to do that most of the time, but like a normal person, I have to indulge once in a while! God bless you girl! Robin

I'm 5 years out and feel great.  While I have gained 20 lbs back, I'm working on getting it back down and maintaining it.  I also just found this site and wish I had more information when I made the decision to have surgery.  There is so much more information and support now.

Hi Violet, I don't post often but I am 5+ years post op LapRNY.  I'm doing well with occasional low iron.  I am struggling to get off 30lbs I have put on in the last 2 years.   Elesha
