Weight gain after miscarriage
Hello All,
I will be two yrs post op in june and recently had a miscarriage ( it was an instance of the one in five pregnancies that terminates itself unfortunately) Over the past month I have gained 9 lbs. I am constatnly eating sweets ( something I didn't even do before surgery i was more a fast food junkie before) My questions is...what is a good way to get jump started back on the band wagon. My highest weight of 357 and my lowest was the 215 I was at. I am now 224 and am freaked. I have tried over last week but am having a hard time...someone will have candy at work or my husband has something sweet at home...or carbs I notice I am carb loading big time. I just need help any good detox ideas??? thank you

Anadelia,
I had a similar experience years ago after suffering a miscarriage. For me it was more a matter of being upset/depressed and not dealing with my feelings well. I am an emotional eater and having a miscarriage sent me into a tailspin big time. I went for comfort foods, sugar, just about anything. So, I guess my question is are you able to deal with your underlying feelings about this or are you trying to self medicate with food?
To detox from carbs you just need to go back to basics~push protein first at every meal and then add in veggies and if still hungry you can have a small serving of carbs (preferable complex "good" carbs). I also make sure to take in around 100oz of water at this time~for me it just helps to flush out my system a little better. You will feel pretty bad for a few days~I get really grumpy. But then on day 4 I usually feel so much better.
Good Luck to You!
