ANOTHER NEW GRAD!

Hi everyone! I am thrilled to be a new grad as of April 18th!   Maybe I was already a grad come to think of it because I had weight loss surgery the first time around back in 1987, when I had the VBG (stomach stapling.)   At that time I went from 260 down to 113 lbs. and kept it off for several years. But over time the staples started to separate as with most other staplers of that era and last April 18th, 2006, I took the plunge and decided to have the lapband surgery.  In Ontario , Canada where I live the lapband is not covered by our government insurance or private medical plans but it was worth every penny of the $16,000 it cost me.  I have the most wonderful surgeon Dr. Chris Cobourn of  www.obesitysurgery.ca  who provides the best aftercare and support I could ask for. I weighed the day of my lapband surgery 250 lbs. and as of today I weigh 163 lbs. and am thrilled.  My goal is 125 lbs. and I know I will get there.  I look forward to visiting this site regularly!

Hi Darlene, Hey your picture looks just like mine, we must have the same parents!   Wow you will reach goal soon, it takes longer usually with the lapband.  But I will get there too!
