Can anyone recommend a good bra?

I'm 15 months out and have lost 155lbs. I've gone from a bra size 50DDD to a 36-38 C/D. I'm not really sure what size I am right now, cause it seems all that's left is skin. I want to pu**** up to roughly be in the place it should be, not 5-6 inches lower where it wants to go. I am having problems cause the bras I want to wear (the cute ones) will basically let the skin escape and it doesn't look good.  Does anyone have any good recommendations? I am planning on having my arms and the girls lifted, but I'm waiting at least a year or two. Thanks for the suggestions and help. Best Wishes! Carol 340/185/170

I'm in the same boat Carol and its such a pain. I finally went to a specialty bra shop and had them measure and fit me properly so I could get the most lift possible. I actually look pretty good with a bra and clothes on now, LOL. So that's what I would recommend. There's so many different styles and actual shapes you can go with so its hard to recommend a specific bra~just depends on what you personally like. I like the microfiber bras that are a little stiffer in the cup with an underwire. Its pricey (I paid $68 per bra) but well worth it b/c they are well made, last long and get things back into their right places! Good Luck!

I just brought the Playtex 18 hour bra and I love it, will be buying some more.  They are reasonably priced too. I paid under $20.

Dear Carol, You might want to check out the following website: www.myintimacy.com I had a breast reduction and went to their Omaha store.  At first I thought I was in the wrong place because I didn't see any bras.  But the lady said they want the customer to get the right bra, so they do the measuring before the saleslady gets the bras.  I think I tried on about a dozen before finding the right one.  I went from a J cup to a C cup, so in truth, I didn't even know what to look for in a bra.  Before it was just a matter of architectural structure!  Once I learned what to look for, I could go to other stores to find more variety. Good luck, Sally

I like Fredricks of Hollywood.  They are less expensive then VS.  Have them measure you too, i was buying the wrong size bra.  I would not get a plunge type bra, because I found that i get ummmm....I don't know how else to put this, nipple popage.  I think with the reduced breast volume they tend to move around more and they come right out of the bra.  It's even worse if you happen to lay down on your side.  I have one plunge bra and some times I have to put the dollies back where they belong.  I find that full cover cups work best. Good Luck!

A couple of people suggested you go to a store that will actually measure you to determine the size you need. That's a great idea. Oprah did a program a year or two ago about bras. They found the majority of women are not wearing the right size. (Most needed a smaller band size and bigger cup size.) Once they were measured and knew their correct size they could then find a style they liked and fit their pocketbook. Another thing they pointed out was that a bra is not something you should scrimp on; you might not need a $72 bra but  you are better off with two good bras then 6 that do nothing for you. Good luck. Thanks for all the responses. I did have a bra fitting a few months ago, but I think I may need a smaller cup size for lift as well as a smaller band size. Right now I wear a 40D, but I notice that the cup size seems not as full as it was and that I need shorter straps to lift them up. I had my picture taken a few days ago and I realized my breasts are lower than they need to be and it tooks bad to me..... I am afraid that I don't really have any specialty stores here except the chains, Victoria's, Fredricks, and LB. Thanks for all the help. Best Wishes  Carol

Just go out and try on a bunch of different brands and styles. What's good for me won't necessarily be good for you. Good luck! Deb

I went to sears and bought a Jockey underwire bra.  It is very stretchy and seems to be mostly spandex.  It is very comfortable and gives me a good natural look. A few weeks later, I went to a lingerie shop to be measured, and after trying on numerous bras, I wound up buying another one of the exact same bras! LOL Good Luck! Dawn

Hi Carol, I LOVE Victoria's Secret Full Coverage bras.   I went to Victoria's Secret and tired on a tray of my bra size (every bra that they have in the store in my size ) found one that I loved and had them give me a card with the name of the style on it.   Then I went home....got on Ebay and bought 3 of them brand new for a little more than the price of one in the store.   They are FANTASTIC....they hold the ladies up and make them look like they are at attention !!!!    LOL   It is nice to feel as though I have regained my girls.   LOL    You might want to give that a try.....they will fit you to a bra also if you want them too.   Good luck with the girls and the bras too. Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian
