I'm another daily weigher.  When I see 134, I know it's time to cut back on the carbs.  lol

Hey Diana! When I was going through my fast-burn phase of weight loss, I only weighed once a week and that seemed good enough for me.   Now that I am almost four years post op and up a little bit on the scales, I am finding that I need the accountability of the scales to keep me in check - and for me, that means every day for a while- at least until the gained pounds are lost! Is it right?    Is it wrong?   I don't think there is a good answer to that question - I think it is simply what works for the individual person.   I know that I don't want to be a slave to the scale, but I am a compulsive person by nature and without some form of accountability, I tend to lose focus and veer off the right path!!  Hugs! I weigh myself once a day in the morning. My weigh does not change much and I know that I should do it once a week.I do it out of habit.I checked to see what I ate the day before and than go on the scale. I think most of us are so fraid of regaining that is why I DO IT.............BOB

I have weighed everyday since the day of surgery. Pre op I would weigh every now and then or when I was trying to lose weight but now I cannot go without knowing. I have learned not to stress over the daily fluctuations. I believe like you that without keeping a daily/weekly check the pounds can creep up on you quick. Even though I do it daily I only compare weekly weights and most of the time I'm in a two pound window up or down. I have the occasional gain of more and thats when I know its time to go over the menu and make some changes.

Diana; I weigh 3-4x/week the weeks I'm home. I travel *a lot* for my job, so there's times I'm gone for 9 days and since every scale is different, I'm not going to make myself crazy weighing on the road. Personally, I can tell by my clothes and I tend to lose 2-4 lbs. each trip I'm on so I don't stress about not being able to weigh while I'm traveling. I was a size 10 at 144 lbs. I'm currently a size 6 at 133 lbs., so there's no way I could gain 10 lbs. and not know it.

I weigh myself daily every morning before getting into the shower.  This keeps me on track.  I have seen a 3 pound gain over night and that gets me into check for the day.  I know I either need to exercise or be more careful with my food choices.  I have read that people who weigh themselves daily tend to have better luck keeping their weigh loss off.  So far so good for me.

I also weigh myself every morning and sometimes in the afternoon.  I am 2 1/2 years post op and I am at goal.  I am very carful  with my food choices during the week and do what ever I chose to do on the weekends.   I know if I don't get on the scale the pounds will definitly come back.  There has been enough clinical research proving that individuals who have been successful keeping thier weight off (regardless if they have had surgery ) weigh themselves weekly and some daily. I am sure that is the reason I am maintaing my weight right where I want it. Lauretta

I also weigh everyday first thing in the morning. I believe it keeps me on track. I don't get crazy about it but it may make me rethink what I eat for the day or how much I need to work out. I am at goal but can also see a 2-4 pound difference some days and then I recheck what I ate. I think it depends on how crazy or mood altering it makes you as to if you should do once a day or once a week. Kim

i weigh twice a day like clockwork. I never miss a day, because if I gain anything I want to start getting it back off immediately!

Like so many others, Diana, I do weigh every morning (I even bought a doctor-type scale), and have since I got to goal.  I don't want any surprises.  I do think it helps me stay on track.  I'm three and a half years out.   I, too, have a fear of regain, even after all this time. Connie -147#
