Herbalife and Green Tea
Hi All,
Does anyone know if the Herbalife drinks and green tea is bad for our pouch? The green tea mix contains; green tea, orange pekoe, cardamom seed, lemon peel, hibiscus for a thermogenic affect. Are herbs like this harmful to our pouch? I still take my own multi, calcium, iron and b12 but wanted to add this as well.
I know there was a list posted somewhere of the "never take again" catagory. (motrin, asprin, etc) Any feedback would be appreciated!
Thanks and have a good day everyone!

I tend to be overly cautious sometimes but me, personally, I wouldn't take Herbal Life now. I HAVE taken it prior to wls and loved it. I just can't help but think about the change in our absorbtion levels and I pair that up with what we are already taking vitamin/supplement. My concerns being too much being rapidly absorbed and the impact it could have on vital organs - such as the liver. Also, the concern that any of the ingredients would hinder the absorbtion of our vitamins/supplements. Other concerns - like how it could affect blood clotting in the event of an emergency or how the ingredients interact with medications that need to be administered in the event of an emergency. I just don't consider it a good gamble. That's just my opinion.
I DO believe green tea is VERY good for you. There is a lot of research out there on the benefits of drinking green tea. You can google it and get lots of information. Per my surgeon and nutritionist, Green Tea is okay for us to have.
If in doubt, you can always take the list of ingredients to your surgeon/nutritionist and see what they have to say about it.

I do drink the green tea to-go packs put in water and love them. I also want to know about green tea oral pills. I did ask my doc and he said absolutely not. Then again he is a medical doc and they don't generally believe in herbal/homeopathic stuff. Let me know if you find anything out about it.

Herbalife is good if you have alot of money to spend for their products.I would go to a good health food store and you might find something like you want to take cheaper.A heabalife distribator knows nothing anout what is good for your pouch. The only thing that they are taught at meetings is sell their products.ould also ask your doctor what you can take for food.Just because they are medical doctors does not mean that they do not care about you.
Herbalife they only care about your buck going to them.

Thanks, everyone. I was mostly interested in the Herbalife protein drinks and herbal green tea concentrate than the pills. I wasn't going to take any of their pills. I used to use this years ago and loved it. I had so much energy and felt great. I have gained about 30 pounds back since my surgery 4 years ago so I thought this might be a good healthy plan.
Go back to basics.Get in your protein, drink your water and exercise.30 Lbs. is not bad in 4 years, you can lose that weight,do not follow deits that is one reason why you had this life changing sugery.
If you need help to lose weight try weigh****chers so that they have portion control.Protein drinks you can find them far cheaper at some places than buying off herbalife.Good luck in acheiving your new goal............bob
Thanks, Bob. I think I am going back to the basics with the protein drinks. I also just purchased an elliptical machine (which I actually enjoy doing! ha!) so I have no excuse not to exercise! I really like it because there is less stress on my knees. We got it second hand/refurbished so it wasn't as costly. I tried WW but there was too much food and too many carb choices for me. I think I'll stick to the exercise every day (or so), protein drinks, my low carb yogurt mixed with flax seed oil and a nice meal (protein, veggies, small potato) at supper.
Thanks for responding and have a great day!
