SHOPPING ADDICTION UPDATE - PLUS PLASTIC SURGERY!!

Here's an update since my last post a few days ago. I had plastic surgery!!! Well not the plastic surgery u all think, but i cancelled all my dept store charge cards and CUT THEM UP - thats the plastic surgery!! I can't believe i did it, but i did and it feels somewhat good. The only one i didnt cancel is the card that my hubby and i share, and i will probably just give it to him unless he says i can use it. I felt i needed to do all this in order for things not to get worse and out of control. This way if i need something, i will just pay cash for it. It wasn't easy doing it but it had to be done. I have lost the weight, and I always say i don't want to go back to the way it was before, and in a way I have done that with the shopping, i definitely switched addictions. Now it's time to stop. I am making this commitment to all of u, my OH friends. Thanks.

Wow, Joanne, it really takes courage to come here and make this statement to us.  You should be very proud that you are taking control of this. I can see signs of this in my own habits, it would be really easy for me to totally go out of control with shopping.  When I was MO, I didn't like the way clothes looked on me, so shopping was a chore.  Now it's really fun---almost too fun.....LOL Congratulations on your commitment.  We're here to support you. Oh sister, I feel your pain.  I had a HUGE problem with QVC.  It was so bad I had my hubby block the chanel!  i know I can go on line, and I do, but there was something about sitting there and watching and getting sucked into "easy pay." Easy Pay my A$$!  That's actually worse than just paying for the darn thing!  Good job! I knew I had it bad when I bought a leopard jacket.  My DH hates animal prints.  I actually bought it in my sleep.  I could have returned it, but I kept it as a reminder of how stupid I got with shopping myself. I'm proud of you!

Hey, I have the shopping problem too!  Thankfully I have no credit cards, and can only spend what I make, but I spend every bit of it!!  I got my tax refund for $5700 and was able to spend it in one day!!  And not pay a single bill.  I  buy shoes a single working mother has no business wearing, like Manolos and Jimmy Choos.  I made a LOT of money this week, enough to pay my rent and all of my monthly bills, but, guess what?  I went shopping, and today I have $9, and did not even get gas yet.  My boyfriend is losing his mind haha.  I guess it is better than eating......

IT'S DEFINITELY BETTER THAN EATING, BUT AT THE SAME TIME, IT'S JUST AS BAD WITH THE ADDICTIVE PART OF IT, AND FOR ME ITS BEEN NO DIFFERENT AS IT'S STILL LEFT ME WITH THE SAME GUILTY FEELINGS AND SELF DESTRUCTION IN A WAY. HOPE U CAN CURB THIS ADDICTION LIKE I AM TRYING TO. TAKE CARE
