RENEE, PLEASE RUN DON'T WALK TO YOUR DR. I THINK YOUR DEPRESSION MEDS ARE NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. MAYBE YOU NEED A DIFFERENT MED.  ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS TAKE ONE STEP AT A TIME.  I WILL BE PRAYING FOR YOU. KAREN

Renee, I agree with the other poster, you need to see your PCP about some other type of med.  It appears your current meds for depression are not working.   I think first and foremost get the depression under control and work on your iron levels.  Those two things will not make your life a happy one; after these are under control then you can work more on getting your eating and weight in control. Sending prayers and positive thoughts your way. Hugs, Dana

Renee, I'm so sorry you are having such a rough time.  After surgery I went through a deep depression.  It's worse than I ever could have imagined.  Please take the time for counseling.  And meds if your doctor things you need them.  Both really helped me.  I also had low iron for a while, and once I got those back up, things got better with energy.   If you have close family and friends -- please reach out to them.  The Board is great -- but not the same as having a person who can sit, talk, hold your hand, and cry with you.  A hug can go a long way.  So can belief in a happier future.   I just fininshed up taking Lexipro (had been on antidepressants for at least 10 years), and may go back on them, just to take the edge off the anxiety.  Some of us are just born that way, and need a little extra help.  Be careful too, of overmedication.  Once I had a doctor that did that with my son, and that did a lot more harm than good.  Use your judgement.  Listen to that little voice that says 'this isn't working', and do something about it.  I firmly believe meds alone won't fix anyting.  You need counseling as well to help with 'whatever' is causing the conflict. Hope this helps -- and I'm sending a virtual hug your way Dana from Michigan

I understand this level of depression.  Sadly, your low iron, and I'm guessing B12 and vit D levels only contribute.  Is there any chance of getting a complete set of labs so you'll know if any of this can be helped nutritoinally?  Then when you get the right meds, you'll have a double chance of feeling human again?
