I have a couple of questions if you don't mind. 1. Has anyone heard about any long term studies being done on WLS? If so, do you know where to find the info? 2. Have you ever gotten dizzy from NOT getting in enough protien, kinda like the way you feel with low blood sugar?  I have had this happen to me several times. As soon as I eat some protien I am fine, but I have almost passed out trying to get to some. One day my DH found me on the floor eating some turkey and not looking to good. Needless to say he freaked a little. But as usual, with in 5 min or so after getting the protien I am perfectly fine. Weird...HUH.

I get dizzy if I don't get enough protein. I thought I was the only one! I feel awful when I don't eat protein.

There are studies, in various journals and such, but many of them blame the patient.  On the yahoo Grad list, we discuss these long term happenings frequently.  There's 9 yrs of research there for you to browse.  Most of us have low BP and low blood sugar issues.  So many have iron and B12 anemia issues that it's so, so sad.  We had these surgeries to feel GOOD, not half dead. Personally, I am plagued with the low BS episodes, but they run in cycles.  I can't say I've ever been low in protein, since I do 180g protein in supplements/day, so I can't comment on that.  In the way early days I was iron anemic, but I found an iron that worked and that's held me ever since, though I take a lot of 'em. The low BS thing is helped most quickly with peanut butter on white bread or crackers.  Cheap carb, fat + protein.  It hits in a sequential order to stop the BS plummet and then keep it from spiking up and crashing again. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Graduate-OSSG

Hi Lisa,  I guess I just want to know if our surgeons are seeing the problems we are having and if they are taking them in to consideration. Many of us have the same issues. I want to know, does anyone care? Are they addressing the problems we are encounering? It is just frustrating. Thank you, If you run into any good info I appreciate you passing it on.
