I  have  been  going  through  a series  of   blood  over the  last   2  months  ..  I  am  taking  my  vitamins  as my  surgeon  has  monitored  very   close.  The  more   results  that  come  back  the  more  I  am  showing  deficient  in  several areas...  My   surgeon  is   very   puzzeled  ..  Last   friday   I   called  a  Hematolgist / oncologist   office  and  talked  to  his   nurse and I  have   a  Dr  appointment  on   monday  ..  I  was   just  curious if  anyone  else  had  experienced  any  thing  like  this ..  I  have  faithfully  had  my   blood  work   checked  at  3, 6  9 and a  year and then  started  having  all   kinds  of  strange  things showing up  ...   This   has  me  more  concerned  than any  thing  along  my  new  journey ...  My  Surgeon  has  been  doing  surgeries  for  over  12 years  and  never  has  had  so  many  defiencies  show  up   in  a  patient ...  I  sure  hope  the  Hematologist  has  some   answers  ..

Hi Kookie - I am post menopausal therefore had less trouble with anema than many but I do know that my time from 12 months to 24 months I had lots of issues - that required doctor's care.  I found that although the weight stopped falling off on it's own at 24 months out the health problems sort of resolved themselves.  During that time period I actually worried a couple times if I had made a mistake in having the surgery but with proper medical care - I'm here to tell you that physicially I'm fine now - except blood pressure is dropping again and will probably have to cut back - again - on bp meds - what a shame!  :  )

What are the deficiencies?  I'm guessing these: B12 with or without folate iron ferritin calcium vit D PTH is high vit A perhaps B1 zinc Yes?  These are expectable and preventable issues with us.  Sadly, most docs don't even TEST for these, so when we move or the care moves to another doc, we're taken off guard.  There are ways to fix them, but again, many of the docs don't understand how to supplement us properly.  Doesn't have to be expensive, just "right".

What are the deficiencies?  I'd love to comment and/or share any knowledge that I may have but you haven't given us any specific information!?!?! If you don't want to, that's fine, of course.  I hope you are well soon!

I have two sides to my brain - a right side and a left side.  The trouble is sometimes there is nothing left in the right side and nothing right in the left side.
