THANK YOU.......THANK you.......thank you   The honesty that I have read in this forum is incredible.  I am so glad to see that you are all willing to share the honesty of the fact that over-eat...you cheat...and you gain weight!!  It is nice to know that we are human...we make mistakes...and we try to learn from them.  I am not eating as well as I should.  I am not exercising like I should... and I admit that I want to get back onto the straight and narrow...  I was down to 155...which was 10 pounds below doctor goal...15 pounds above my goal..and actually 5 pounds lighter then I should be...   I feel that I am useless and a loser because I am not losing anymore...  You are my inspiration....again!!!  Maybe I can get myself back to where I want to be....  THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Daniel - it is so sad that we judge our self worth by our weight but I know exactly what you mean!  Just don't give up on yourself.  You appear to be a young man with lots of life ahead of you - stop and give yourself credit for what you've accomplished.

Daniel Okay , you've admitted the problem now all you can do is start working on that tomorrow.  You can not go back in time and change anything you have done, so you have to just start each day trying to get back to what you want to be.  Good luck on your journey and the support here is wonderful. Let us know how you are doing. Darlene

Hey Daniel - and everyone else that has posted!! I've had some regain in the last couple of years and I've let it cause much added stress and anxiety in my life; however, I only want to say this one thing, because through it all (the weight loss and slight weight gain), I honestly believe the following: Not ONE of us in this boat is a failure because of slip-ups or weight gains.  Why?  Because each one of us took control of a situation that was spiraling out of control and did something about it!  Getting on that operating table took more courage than most people possess, so we are all winners in that aspect! We just need to take a step back, analyze our situation and take back that control! And if anyone figures out exactly how to do that, would you please let me know?!?!?!?!?!? Hugs! Kristi

I know that in the beginning...the weight loss is pretty easy.  You can't eat much...you don't want to eat...so of course you lose weight.  It comes off quickly and naturally and we are elated.  After a year...two years...we start to eat more.  Still not as much as we could...but we do eat more.  We snack...we feel hunger...    However, the weight loss stops because our body has totally adapted.  I think the secret is....the natrual rationalization that we are now in a situation in which our body dicates what we should do and how we should do it.  Weight loss isn't easy after losing all the weight...  now we simply have to remember that we simply need to be mindful of what we are doing...not obsessive about what we are doing....

Daniel Since I remember you from the pasadena group I will say that I think you have done fabulous. It is great that you realize you too are normal (whatever that is lol) I think the hardest thing for me to accept is that 3 cookies and the same thing for 30 minutes of exercise means a completely different thing to a 200 pound person than it did to a 360 pound person. If I ate 3 extra cookies when I weighed 360 they were insignifigant. At 200 pounds the same 3 cookies take up alot more of my daily calorie intake. At 360 pounds 30 minutes on the treadmill was ALOT. at 200 pounds it doesnt burn much.  So I have to eat less and exercise more...really that simple! Good luck :-) Diana RNY 9/17/03 360/200/still aiming at 180
