Remember you are eating for someone else right now. It's not a good thing for that baby if you screw around with your blood sugars while pregnant. Remember that's what happens- you eat sugar- your body absorbs it rapidly due to the surgery- the rise in blood glucose level causes your pancreas to go insane and pump out a stream of insulin dropping your blood sugar- hence all the symptoms. Remember though at the same time your little baby is experiencing the same flucuations in blood sugar at a time of important development. Not good.
SO my suggestion is take you hubby and hit the nutritionist's office for a good plan....
oh, and congratulations. Babies are great. They smell good, they are snuggly and warm and fun to cuddle with, they are cute. and sweet.....I can't say the same for 2 year olds, 9 year olds or teenagers......but babies are great.
