Good Day to Everyone, Feeling pretty chipper today...Had an office staff meeting and got some stressors off my chest which did wonders for my mood and I'm hoping will also help with my desires to wonder of the road into snack land...Sometimes those snacks are so tempting...Yesterday Connie noted biscotti as one of foods she ate, and I know I fall prey to the call of the biscotti too, its one of the few real sugar foods I can eat because the sugars are less than 8 grams per serving and I usually dump with over 10 grams...Anyway, enough rambling, here's my food: B - 1 ini chocolate dipped pretzel       20 oz  1/2 decaf sf / ff starbucks cinnamon dolce latte S - 10 cheddar mini pretzels       1 oz lf cheddar cheese       1 sf peanut cluster L - 3-4 oz slice of meatloaf w/ tomato sauce      3/4 cup tomato and avocado salad w/ lemon dressing       1 sf peanut butter cup S - 1 oz honey roasted peanuts D - 2 chocolate dipped strawberries       1 sf apple muffin       3 prune bites       1 bite of my husbands pancake S - 9 oz banana yogart protein drink Plus 71 oz  water/crystal light Chime in and let me know if this post is helping you stay on track...

Please dont take offense and I am surely no expert but it seems to me that you eat alot of SF things and I know for me they just make me hungrier...ok Im never hungry but I get desirous of sweets. All the SF & artificial sweetners seem to do this to me.  I am also concerned that you arent getting enough nutrition. Have you ever logged on fitday? I am curious about how healthy your diet is. I say all this because your posts have really been helpful to me. I have been watching everything I put in my mouth and am being accountable. I dont always have time to respond but I read the boards every day (or try too anyway). My Doc had me revisit a nutrionist and she said we need to make sure we are getting 1000-1200 "usefull" calories. I am trying so hard.  I ahve always believed that as long as I only ate 1200 calories it woud be fine even if they were all in hershey bars. I am told this is not true...especailly for WLS postops. So that is why I am sending out this post. I wish you tons of success & look forward to watching your progress. Diana RNY 9/17/03 360/200/still aiming at 180

Diana, No offense taken, sometimes it is good to have an outside look...I have been logging into fitday a couple of times a month to track myself, so I do know about my calorie average...I'm the first to admit that my food choices have not been top of the line probably for about a week or so, I think that is because I've been battling a bug and I'm not really hungry, so then I realize haven't really eaten anything of substance and being a sweet addict, I reach for something sweet to fill in...I was thinking that my eating habits were pretty good and sticking well to the rules of protein and good carbs as first choices, but looking back at my posts on this for the last few days my judgement might be a little clouded...I'm due to see my doc and nut for 2 year check-in in about another month and expect my nut will be giving me a similar talking too...Can say some eating days are definately better than others, again appreciate your observation, that is one of the reasons I started this chat line, so keep checking in on me, I'll take your words to heart and look hard at better choices all around... Thanks,

Connie, I really enjoy comparing food days also and have mostly felt that I have too many things on my list of what I ate that day...Looking of these past postings shows me that I may be a little "long listed" because I'm snacking to much...Another poster Diana pointed out that nutricianally I may not be getting the most bang for my buck and she's right, so that is the next area I will be focusing on - really using the basic rules of protein first than veggies and good carbs, will have to start tomorrow (Thursday) because today's food sucked all around with dinner being the only good note on the day...I'm glad you continue to post with me, keep on comin' back...
