Has anyone heard of a one year "plateau"?

I was one year out on March 8.  I have been stalled for a month now, and it is very concerning to me.  Is this the end of the road?  Has the weight loss window slammed shut on me?  Has anyone else gone through this? Any help or advice would be most appreciated! Have a great day! Dawn

I remember when I hit my one year mark everything slowed WAY down. I was 164lbs at my 1yr anniversary and then continued to lose another 14lbs over several months bringing me to my goal of 150. I've had small ups and back downs since then, but seem to be maintaining ok so far. So, I don't think you're done~it will just take a little bit longer now, but keep doing all the good things and you'll make it to your goal!!!!! Good Luck!!!!

How has your loss be throughout? I tend to lose randmoly over the month BUT it adds up to about 20-30% ofmy excess weight lost, every single month. Even though now thats like 4 pounds a month, and I may lose that in the first 3 days or the month and then NADA for 3.5 weeks... I like to look at it overall. I also do a spreasdsheet every day of my weight, how much to goal, how much I've lost, did I exercise? did I get my protien? etc. Obsessive? maybe but when the scale doesn't move it comforts my brain to see that it's ok.

Hey Dawn, my sister DSer! Today, I am one year out and lost about 3 pounds this month. I had maintained my loss but wanted to show a "boost" for the year. I did higher protein for a day - and wham! Two pounds came off. I've gotten a bit careless about some foods now. I like ice cream with chocolate sauce if I have it and I am not above a snickers now and then. (I no longer eat 2-3!)  I would say track what you are eating daily at fitday.com. Be honest about it and you may see some things you can do. I think you've done great but our window is about 18 months. The goal shoud be to get to goal....then test the limits.  This is my first time on this board so it is good to see a familar face! Keep in touch! Dianne

I had surgery 9/17/03 weighted 360  9/17/04 I weighed 221 down 139   its has been 2 years 6 months since the first yearv was up and I have only list another 21 pounds...I work out alot now (gave up on it for awhile because of frustration) and try to watch what i eat.  I maintain easily but to lose well lets just say I am still waiting for that. This has never been easy for me....the first year to lose the 139 I worked out one hours twice  a day and never had over 1000 calories a day...My body (& sometimes I think God) likes me fat.  Ok maybe 200 isnt Fat but.... good luck Diana RNY 9/17/03 360/200/stil aiming hard for 180
