Aetna
Hi Sonny,
I have Aetna thru hubby's work. I didn't have it when I had wls . I just had hernia repair and my panni removed. Don't know what to say about it yet. The one good thing is hubby can go on line and see if anything has been paid. He did see that the ps didn't get paid yet but we will have to see what happens . Everything was ok'd before surgery. I think the ins companies just want you to get your blood pressure up.

Hi Sonny,
Take a look at my profile...but looooooonnng story short, I have been going around with Aetna for about 18 months. They denied my first submission 3 times (initial denial, and two appeals). I then had to wait six months and resubmit again to start a new case...I was approved in 3 weeks....go figure.

My Husband and I both have Aetna.
They required a 3 month/ 3 visits with the surgeon,
Background on all our weight loss attempts and failures for 6 plus years.
A visit with a Psychologist and Nutritionist and then finally were were
approved.
They were pretty good about it for both of us. We had surgery the same day last
year on April 26.
But I've heard complete opposite stories too. Not man , but some.
They haven't been very nice about my upcoming plastic surgery but I didn't expect much from them on that, being it's "cosmetic".
But they said they'd cover the muscle repair so that covers the hospital at least.
Good luck. I really hope it goes as smoothly for you as it did for us Sonny.
